The Patriots worked out eight players Wednesday Youth Quinton Spain Jersey , including running back Kenjon Barner and receiver Kendall Wright, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. He made 280 catches for 3,244 yards and 18 touchdowns in his five seasons in Tennessee. He spent last season in Chicago, making 59 catches for 614 yards and one touchdown. In the offseason, Wright signed with the Vikings, who released him over the weekend.Barner Kevin Byard Jersey , 28, was a sixth-round pick of the Panthers in 2013. Carolina traded him to the Eagles before the 2014 season opener.Although Barner didn’t play for the Eagles in 2014, he played 37 games with Philadelphia the past three seasons. He had 140 touches for 430 yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots also worked out defensive back Quin Blanding, running back Matthew Dayes, receiver Brandon Reilly, fullback Aaron Ripkowski, linebacker Martell Spaight and linebacker Anthony Winbush. The Titans will enter Sunday’s game with some of their key players less than 100%. Tennessee have five starters have appeared on their official injury report this week- a list that includes Marcus Mariota, Corey Davis http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-austin-johnson-jersey , Taylor Lewan, Derrick Morgan and Jack Conklin. No surprise with Conklin, as his return date remains unknown. Other names that weren’t surprising include rookies Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry. Both were full participants in Thursday’s practice which is a positive sign. It doesn’t guarantee they’ll see the field, but the odds are more likely. As we know, of the names listed above, Lewan remains the biggest question mark as he’s been resting and recovering. The Titans should feel confident in Kevin Pamphile and Dennis Kelly’s abilities to man the tackle positions for another week following a solid performance against Miami. If you don’t think the offensive line did well despite being without Lewan and Conklin, read some of Mike Herndon’s work here.A healthier Lewan in week three against the Jaguars may be better than an 80% or less Lewan facing a tough Texans defensive front, long-term. The risk of Lewan suffering another concussion against the Texans defense following a non-practice week cannot be overlooked. Key Texans LimitedHouston also has some key players dealing with injuries. The Texans have been taking it easy with Jadaveon Clowney Authentic Derrick Henry Jersey , who is dealing with a back injury as well as his elbow. Clowney was among a few notable names listed in Houston’s injury report.Of the four receivers listed on the injury report, the obvious standouts are DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. Fuller missed the opener against New England, whereas Hopkins appears to be dealing with a foot injury following his 78 yards on eight reception performance against the Patriots.Hopkins and Clowney’s limited participation doesn’t mean anything. Both are playing Sunday but their workload has been scaled back, similar to what the Titans are doing with Davis. Fuller, on the other hand, was initially expected to miss a few weeks. The Titans can afford to wait on seeing Fuller until the second meeting in November.Scheming to Mask PersonnelAt this point, the Titans will likely be without both starting tackles.
It’s not the end of the world - although the world would be much better with Conklin and Lewan in the starting lineup. The “next man up” mentality is something HC Mike Vrabel’s staff have been reinforcing since their arrival. This helps provide confidence needed to fill in when the top guys aren’t available. Jonnu Smith, Kelly and Pamphile are the “next man up” at their respected positions. OC Matt LaFleur and Offensive Line Coach Kevin Carter have both likely been buried in film with a focus on finding what both Kelly and Pamphile did well or excelled at.Scheming to their strengths will be imperative. Quinton Spain easily had the best showing of any offensive linemen against the Dolphins. Spain and the interior will have to avoid becoming a liability and strive to replicate their performance. The tackles are capable of doing just enough. However Youth Delanie Walker Jersey , if the interior struggles, so with the tackles.Smith will be an important piece heading into Sunday. Being tasked with filling in for Delanie Walker seems daunting enough. The Titans do not need Smith to be a carbon copy of Walker - the team just needs him to showcase his own skills. Walker was clearly a better blocker, but the team won’t need Smith to do so at such a high level - at least they shouldn’t scheme for putting Smith in those situations. The Titans need Smith to do just enough blocking - and they will allow for Luke Stocker and Anthony Firkser to help out on that front. Stocker will be used a lot like New England’s James Develin was last week - tasked with the clean up blocks on edge defenders. Firkser drew comparisons to former Colts TE Dallas Clark in a piece written by The Athletic’s John Glennon. If Firkser can contribute in the same manner Clark did for Indy, it would be huge in helping accommodate for Walker’s lost production.Episode Two of the Derrick and Dion ShowDerrick Henry and Dion Lewis were both vital to the team’s offensive success. The box score won’t fully reflect that, but the tape doesn’t lie. Henry was a few shoestring tackles away from having MONSTER gains and had a 60 yarder called back. It was a good day on the ground, and a majority of the praise should go to the Titans offensive line.Expect the “hot hand” strategy to be the case every single week. Both backs could feast on the Texans defense and surely LaFleur will scheme accordingly. Lewis should be a match nightmare against the Texans linebackers in coverage. Henry should be a handful on the outside runs against Houston’s corners. Henry has already stated he is upset with how he played. How he responds against the Texans could translate to a big day on the ground for the pair of Titans ball-carriers. With Marcus Mariota not a lock to start, the running backs will be vital to the offense.

Until recently that is. In fact, the Dallas Cowboys 2018 defense currently ranks among the best in the league, ranking seventh in points allowed and fifth in yards allowed. We can see this is the culmination of a long-term trend of the Cowboys’ defense slowly and methodically improving from historically bad (2013) to mediocre (2015) to top ten (2018). This is a terrific development. Cowboys fans have, for years, watched the team lose important games when the defense simply couldn’t stop opponents from putting up video game-like numbers in key late-season and post-season games. Consider how the Cowboys’ seasons ended in recent years when the team was good enough to compete or advance to the playoffs:Those defensive numbers are simply horrific in every way:29 points allowed per game400 yards allowed per gameThree turnovers generated in five games or 0.6 per gameIt’s virtually impossible to win games against quality opponents when the defense is surrendering 30 points, 400 yards and recording no turnovers. Yet that’s what Cowboys’ offenses have been asked to overcome for the duration of the Garrett era. Until now it seems. The current defense has the league’s leading sack-master. There’s also a corner no one wants to throw against. These are both features we haven’t seen in years. Add an athletic, young linebacking corps and there’s lots to like about this defense. And yet, there are three numbers that should give every Cowboys’ fan pause. Because these numbers resemble past numbers in almost every way. More importantly, if these numbers continue, this 2018 defense will disappoint just as past defenses have. Let’s take a look at each one. 3rd Down Conversion RateWhile Dallas has consistently improved in recent years in points and yards allowed, the same cannot be said for allowing teams to convert third downs. In fact, the 2018 squad is currently allowing teams to convert 45% of third downs www.philadelphiaeaglesteamonlines.com , which ranks 26th in the entire league. We see this is similar to last season and is markedly worse than the 2015-2016 units. It is, however, very similar to the 2014 squad that ended up allowing the Green Bay Packers to convert nine of thirteen third down attempts in the team’s division round match-up. In short, despite having an elite pass-rusher the team continues to allow defenses to convert third downs and move the chains. An inability to get off the field is a defensive weakness that will show up again and again against above average offenses. Red Zone Conversion RateMost red zone analysis look at number of touchdowns scored versus number of attempts. Thus, if a team enters the red zone four times and scores touchdowns two times they’ll assign that team a 50% conversion rate. I look at it differently. I consider each red zone entry an opportunity to score seven points. I then divide the number of points actually scored by the number of points available. Thus, if a team had four red zone opportunities and converted those into two touchdowns and two successful field goals they scored 20 out of a possible 28 points:(Actual points scored)/(Available points) or (20/28) = 71.5%This approach allows us to account for made and missed field goals as well as turnovers. And in this area the 2018 Cowboys are failing. They are currently allowing teams to convert red zone opportunities at a 65% rate. This number is worse when you consider the team did well against the Panthers in week one (giving up 16 points in five red zone opportunities).
Since then, Dallas has surrendered 34 points in six red zone opportunities (5.7 points per opportunity/81% conversion rate). In short, the Dallas defense hasn’t been as good near the goal-line as it has been beyond the 20-yard line. And the numbers are largely affected by an event we’ve seen far too rarely: a turnover. The Dallas defense forced a turnover on the very first drive of the season. Daniel Ross caused a fumble on the Carolina Panthers initial drive of the season opener inside the Cowboys’ five-yard line. DeMarcus Lawrence recovered the ball for a huge play that helped keep that game close early. Without that play the Cowboys’ red zone numbers would be even worse. Which brings us to our third and most important number:Turnovers caused: twoIt’s almost mind-numbing to consider the realities of the Cowboys’ current turnover situation. Generally, having an active, dynamic, athletic defense would lead to turnovers. A pass rush that disrupts opposing quarterbacks should lead to bad decisions, deflections and poor throws that inevitably result in interceptions and quarterback fumbles. Add athletic, mobile linebackers and sticky corner backs and conventional wisdom says turnovers should be coming in droves. Not so with this defense. The team currently sits in 32nd place out of 32 teams in turnovers caused. That’s bad; really bad. But we’ve seen this before:The above shows us that since ranking second in the league with 31 turnovers caused in 2014 the Cowboys have never been above league average since. We also see that for the second time in four years the team is dead last. The 2015 squad set a modern NFL record by recording only eleven turnovers in sixteen games (0.69 turnovers per game). And yet Philadelphia Eagles T-Shirt , the current defense again ranks dead last in turnovers. In fact, the team is on pace to record only eight turnovers on the season, which would best the Cowboys’ previous modern-day record. The Cowboys’ defensive secondary is no longer surrendering huge volumes of yards as past editions have but it’s also not recording any turnovers. The team ranks dead last with zero interceptions. The defense has forced only three fumbles on the season (recovering two). It’s hard to explain or isolate why this is happening but it is.Turnover margin is the single biggest number that correlates with winning in the NFL; much more so than yards gained. Thus, unless this defense can somehow start doing what it hasn’t done thus far the 2018 season is likely to end in disappointment for Cowboys’ fans. Now, turnovers are somewhat mercurial. That 2014 Cowboys team that ranked second in the league in turnovers generated wasn’t particularly special. It ranked 19th in yards allowed, 15th in points allowed and recorded only 28 sacks. There was nothing about that team that made you think it would be a top-five turnover machine. Yet it somehow found a way to take the ball away from opponent’s 31 times. Turnovers, it seems, are a mysterious and unpredictable element of NFL football. Thus, it’s very concerning that this otherwise quality Cowboys defense seems completely incapable of taking the ball away. Unless and until that changes, it’s unlikely this team will succeed in any way.

Mariota didn't throw during the open portion of practice Friday for the second straight day and was listed as limited and questionable on the team's final injury report. Mariota injured his elbow on a hit from William Hayes while carrying out a fake on a run-pass option play during a season-opening 27-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins."We're evaluating http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/ka_imi-fairbairn-jersey ," Vrabel said. We anticipate both of those guys playing in the game. We're going to have to do a lot of things to win this game, and I would anticipate both of those guys playing at some point in time. Marcus is going to do everything he can to get ready. Every player is going to do everything they can to get ready on Sunday. That's what our job is as pro football players and coaches, to exhaust all resources, time and energy to get ready to play in the game."Whoever plays at quarterback will be playing behind a makeshift offensive line missing left tackle Taylor Lewan, who sustained a concussion in the Dolphins game and didn't practice all week. Right tackle Jack Conklin, still recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery on his left knee in January, is out as well. Conklin's replacement - right tackle Dennis Kelly - was absent from practice Thursday and Friday due to illness. There is some good news for the Titans on the defensive side of the ball. Vrabel said he expects the team's top two draft picks - linebackers Rashaan Evans (hamstring) and Harold Landry (ankle) - to play Sunday. Both were injured before the season and missed the Dolphins game.Landry, Kelly, linebacker Derrick Morgan (knee) and tight end Luke Stocker (calf) are all listed as questionable on the Titans' official injury report.Safety Kendrick Lewis has been ruled out for the second straight week with a foot injury. After finally getting their first win this weekend, the Houston Texans know that they still have plenty of work to do if they hope to get on a roll and turn their season around. The Texans (1-3) squandered an 18-point lead on Sunday before beating the Colts 37-34 in overtime to end a nine-game losing streak going back to last season.Coming up next is a showdown with in-state rival Dallas http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/d.j.-reader-jersey , a team that enters the game at 2-2 after a victory over Detroit this weekend."There's a lot of things that we need to correct, but when you come out of that game with a win, there's a lot of things that you can look at that you can build on," coach Bill O'Brien said. The Texans got great performances from defensive ends J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney on Sunday. Watt had two sacks, a tackle for a loss and forced two fumbles. Clowney recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown, had two sacks, four quarterback hits and four tackles for losses.O'Brien said Sunday was Clowney's best game this season."He had a very disruptive game ... it was fun to see him back out there playing that way," O'Brien said. "He did a great job."Despite the strong play of Watt and Clowney, O'Brien is looking for improvement on defense this week, especially in the secondary after Andrew Luck threw for 464 yards and four touchdowns on Sunday.
The Texans are also searching for ways to better protect Deshaun Watson after the quarterback was sacked seven times by the Colts. The second-year player has been sacked 17 times this season http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/ryan-griffin-jersey , which is the second most in the NFL.Though O'Brien knows that his team must cut down the number of times Watson is getting hit, he was quick to point out that the problem isn't just with the line."The sacks are definitely not all the offensive line," he said. "I would say, to be honest with you, the offensive line is probably only responsible for two of those sacks. I think the other five came from missing some assignments here and there at other positions."Houston's offense took a hit on Sunday when receiver Will Fuller left the game early in the second half with a hamstring injury. Fuller, who has 263 yards receiving and three touchdowns, missed the season opener with an injury to the same hamstring.O'Brien didn't have an update on his condition on Monday, saying he'd know more later in the week. With Fuller out, the Texans got a strong game from rookie Keke Coutee, who made his debut on Sunday after missing the first three games with an injury. Coutee finished with 11 receptions for 109 yards."He's a very Authentic Lamar Miller Jersey , very instinctive guy," O'Brien said. "He's got really good quickness, but he's also got really good speed and he's got strong hands. So, he really did a nice job for us in some key moments that we really needed a play because maybe they were doubling (DeAndre) Hop (Hopkins) or Will wasn't in there."If Fuller can't go on Sunday, the Texans could lean on Coutee even more this week. O'Brien expects him to take another step forward this week after getting his first game under his belt."When he sees some of the things that he missed, he's going to really even be better the next time out ... that's what's key about the rookies is when you have a good game like that, you've got to really try to build on it," O'Brien said.

If there is one aspect of the Pittsburgh Steelers offense which constantly befuddles me Ramon Foster Jersey , it is how since Bruce Arians retired/was fired the team has not run as much play action as they once did.A large reason for the team bringing in Todd Haley after Arians’ departure was to help keep Ben Roethlisberger healthy. Shortly upon his arrival, the 8-step drop backs for Roethlisberger started to diminish, and the quick-hitting timing routes became more of an onus within the offense. While Arians, and other coordinators like Ken Whisenhunt, loved to run play action and chuck it deep, it wasn’t the forte of Haley. But what about new offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner? It is a small sample size, but early indications are Fichtner wants to run more play action than his predecessor, but the plays themselves might look different.Take a look at what play action passing might resemble in the new-style offense Fichtner has been running off of Haley’s offensive skeleton.Again, with only two weeks under the team’s belt, it is too early to tell if the play action passing game will become a staple, or just a weekly feature depending on matchups. However, when comparing this season to 2017, there is already an uptick in play-action passing. If you are like me, you are hoping for even more play action passing in the future, and it is worth noting the team would have to establish a running game for the play action to be truly effective. Sure Cheap Cameron Heyward Jersey , you can always freeze the linebackers with a play action play, but to get the secondary to bite on the fake as well, that is where you make your real money. As the Steelers now prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, establishing the run, and utilizing play action might just be the trick against a very aggressive defense who will want to fly to the ball and make plays. Do you wish the Steelers used more play action, or is this something which is a dated style of offense which should be phased out of the playbook? Let us know in the comment section below! The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't surprised by the success of second-year running back James Conner.Conner continues to shine in the spotlight while two-time All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell remains away from the team. Conner enjoyed a history-making day, accounting for more than 200 all-purpose yards during the Steelers' 33-18 home win against Cleveland on Sunday."He's doing what he's been doing the whole time," Steelers right guard David DeCastro said. "He's keeping his head down and running really hard. He's a fun guy to block for."Bell, who finished as the NFL's third-leading rusher last season, still has not reported nor signed his one-year, $14.5 million franchise tender.Conner has taken full advantage while Bell has been away.He finished Sunday's game with 212 all-purpose yards, just 25 fewer than the Browns totaled as a team. Conner, a 2017 third-round pick, rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 66 yards."I'm just doing what I love to do," Conner said. "Just trying to be in the right spots for (quarterback) Ben (Roethlisberger) with the check-downs in the passing game Cheap Sean Davis Jersey , and just trying to put the ball in the right spots in the right game."He also made history while he was at it.
Conner is the first Steeler to rush for at least 100 yards and two touchdowns in three straight games. He eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the third straight game and fifth time this season."He did a lot of good things (against Cleveland), running the ball and catching the ball for us," Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey said. "He just looks good all the way around and runs the ball hard. He takes it very seriously and his preparation is very good. I can't say enough about him."Now, the rest of the league is taking notice.Conner's nine touchdowns rank second in the NFL and his 599 rushing yards are third. Conner, a former University of Pittsburgh standout, is also tied for the most touchdown runs, and has the second-most yards from scrimmage 鈥?922 鈥?through the first seven games of a season in team history."I had a front-row seat for his college exploits, so we are not surprised by his talents, play, demeanor, or his displays of will," said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, whose team shares a practice facility with Pitt.Conner rushed for 135 yards, gained 192 all-purpose yards and finished with two scores during the season opener at Cleveland. He has 281 yards rushing, 404 all-purpose and four touchdowns in two games against the Browns. It wasn't easy for Conner on Sunday: Conner had 36 yards rushing on his first 12 carries. But on his next 12 Cheap Ben Roethlisberger Jersey , Conner added 110 yards rushing. By the third quarter, the fans at Heinz Field were chanting his name 鈥?"CON-NER," ''CON-NER," 鈥?when he finished the period with 114 all-purpose yards."I'm proud of him," Roethlisberger said. "It was so much fun to watch him go and work and be successful and hear the crowd love on him."Conner didn't allow the slow start to affect his play."Things aren't going to go our way the whole game," Conner said. "You just have to have patience. We just wanted to stay focused and locked in."Conner enjoyed a strong finish with 60 of 75 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown, during a third-quarter scoring drive that gave the Steelers an 11-point lead. He added a 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter."It's just a moment that we have to take advantage of late in the game," Conner said. "We have the ball, trying to run the clock out and we need first downs. We're just trying to move those chains and stay on the field."Conner seeks a strong finish to the season, of course."I'm just trying to be a better back every week," Conner said. "I'm just running hard."

This is it. We have seven days until the Tennessee Titans begin playing real football that actually matters Navy Will Compton Jersey , which means we can avoid using the filler to hold off our anticipation for the regular season and begin with new material once again.Naturally, here’s an article with some filler. Titans fans are a loyal, rabid group, and we know this. Like any fan base, this involves the use of bold predictions. Bold predictions take up a lot of space on TV and on the internet, and there’s no escaping it. Bearing that in mind, let’s get our bold predictions out of the way so we can move on and see that we are wrong all along about our predictions.I’ll start by getting my bold prediction all the way.Harold Landry will have double digit sacks in his rookie seasonYep, I am drinking the Harold Landry Kool-Aid and predicting a double digit sack season. I have no doubt that Landry will be a good player in the league, as we all do, but now that he’s fully healthy (after dealing with injuries in his senior season at Boston College) Navy Logan Ryan Jersey , I’m expecting huge things from his rookie season. Simply put, Landry has the quickness, ridiculous bend, and phenomenal athleticism to become a generational talent in the league. Is this a hot take? A little, yes. But it’s a take I find warranted because of how gifted Landry is as a player. So I’m predicting at least ten sacks for Landry. And before you tell me Landry isn’t starting initially, I know. But in 2017, Bengals rookie pass rusher Carl Lawson started one game in his rookie season and still managed to put up 8.5 sacks. If Landry starts a few more than just one, I don’t see how he isn’t at least in the wheelhouse of Lawson’s rookie season. Sacks aren’t everything for a pass rusher—not even close—but it is fun to witness them when they do occur. With that out of the way, let’s hear your boldest, hottest takes on the 2018 season. Titans Senior Writer/Editor Jim Wyatt posted a story outlining RB Derrick Henry’s disgust of his play through three games this season.Henry has 46 carries through three weeks for a total of 139 yards. If you factor in the 60+ yard scamper that wasn’t Navy Kenny Vaccaro Jersey , he’d have a little over 200 yards. This would’ve boosted his average yards per carry from three to four and some change. Splitting carries isn’t bothering Henry. For him, it’s the belief that he is not making the most out of the carries he is given. Having Jack Conklin manning the right side of the offensive line surely will help boost Henry’s productivity. Trusting the Hole Henry’s hesitancy or lack of patience in understanding the hole will be there keeps him from running with a full head of steam once the ball is stuffed in his gut. OC Matt LaFleur praised Henry’s vision and it’s apparent the Titans want to give Henry more opportunity to do damage. In week one, Henry carried the ball 10 times. Over the past two weeks, he’s carried the ball 18 times twice. Between 18-25 carries per game is what the workload on a good day should look like for Henry as he is a volume runner. What he was used to in college was fields of wide open spaces. In the NFL, the holes will not be as glaring and it will be up to him to hit the crease hard to help it open up.
The hesitancy above affects Henry’s ability to process the play because he leans on his instincts to bounce the run outside instead of waiting for the hole to develop. Once Henry can overcome that hesitancy, he will be even more dangerous.A misconception of Henry is thinking he is a bruising back. He’s not. His physical stature suggests one think, but his instincts as a runner are completely opposite. Henry’s style back in college wasn’t built on his ability to plow through people - it was built on his ability move that fast at the second level with that physical size.Dion Lewis, who is obviously not Henry’s size, is more of a between the tackles grinder. What helps Lewis is his trust that the hole will develop - something he can help Henry learn. Lewis’s size contributes to him getting lost behind the line, which make it easier for him to creep up on the openings in the offensive line. Henry doesn’t have the same luxury. He can’t hide behind the line and usually defenders meet him in the backfield Youth Jonnu Smith Jersey , thus preventing any steam from building up.Adding ViolenceA mad Henry should mean a violent Henry. Violence is good.If Henry attacks even the smallest crease with an intense level of violence, great things could happen. Henry evolving into a force running between the tackles will put him one step closer to being a complete running back, which bodes well for the Titans. In Wyatt’s piece, Henry says he“let three go away”. Although his individual stats aren’t where he’d like them to be, Henry should still realize he has contributed to the offense in the past few weeks. I’ve mentioned in previous pieces that Henry has been a shoestring tackle away from breaking the big one - multiple times. If he approaches the home game against the Eagles with the mentality he spoke about having, it would come at just the right time. There has been somewhat of a difference in the speed of which Henry hits the hole from the Wildcat compared to other formations. A lot could be due to his Wildcat options being cut and dry. He needs to explode through the hole the same way no matter what the formation. With the offensive line seeming whole again, Henry could be primed for a big day on the ground. If Lewis is on his game, the “Derrick and Dion” show could be fun to watch run wild behind an offensive line nearing full strength.

The Eagles opened as three-point favorites for their game in Tennessee and some gambling sites now have Philadelphia favored by four points. It’s not difficult to see why the reigning Super Bowl champions are favored here. Yeah Cheap Cameron Johnston Jersey , the Titans just beat the Jaguars in Jacksonville, but it was a very close and ugly game with a final score of 9 to 6. Moreover, the Titans’ quarterback situation is not ideal right now. Blaine Gabbert had to start last week with Marcus Mariota still dealing with a pinched nerve in his elbow. When Gabbert got knocked out of the game, Mariota was thrust into action and actually did OK for a guy who lacks feeling in his fingers. The Oregon Ducks alumnus completed 12 of his 18 attempts for 100 yards, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions Cheap Sidney Jones Jersey , and a 80.8 passer rating. He also contributed with seven rushing attempts for 51 yards. But Mariota’s limitations were clear and they might continue to be a problem moving forward. Check out these Rotoworld write-ups:As we saw in Week 2, Jim Schwartz’s defense has had issues playing away from the home confines of Lincoln Financial Field. Since 2016, the Eagles are allowing 27.5 points per game in road tilts. With Mariota being less than 100%, though, this could be an opportunity for the Eagles to reverse that trend, at least for one week.Elsewhere Youth Ronald Darby Jersey , the Eagles might be getting some good news on the injury front this week. It seems like Alshon Jeffery might have a shot to return against the Titans. Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles are also expected to return to practice this week in some capacity. And then there’s the fact Carson Wentz is back under center for the Eagles. He looked a little rusty in his first game played since December 2017 but he also showed plenty of encouraging signs that bode well for the Eagles moving forward.
The Titans have played teams tough this year. Their only defeat so far is a one-possession loss to a 3-0 Dolphins team on the road in Miami. I don’t expect them to just lay down and take a beating. With that said, there’s rightful reason for the Eagles to be favored this week.Jason Peters injury update following Eagles vs. Giants Eagles starting left tackle Jason Peters suffered a biceps injury that caused him to leave Philadelphia’s 34-13 win over the New York Giants early on Thursday evening.Doug Pederson didn’t give much of an update on his status after the game, but Peters did tell reporters that he’s “OK.”While it’s good to see Peters say this, his assessment needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Remember how Rodney McLeod said he felt fine after the Eagles’ Week 3 game but it was later discovered he suffered a torn MCL? The good news is we’re hearing Peters might be OK to play through his biceps injury. From NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Derrick Gunn:It’s unclear exactly when the MRI will take place but you can bet Pederson will be asked about Peters’ status during his noon press conference today. So hopefully we’ll find out more then. If not, stay tuned for more reports on Peters’ status. In the meantime, here’s some more medical context on Peters’ injury from former NFL team doctor David Chao:In other injury news Cheap Carson Wentz Jersey , Pederson said Lane Johnson could’ve stayed in the game last night if the Eagles really needed him to play. Philadelphia took their starting right tackle out once they had built a comfortable lead over the Giants. Now Johnson will have a chance to rest up before the Eagles play against the Panthers on Sunday, October 21.Sidney Jones also got banged up in the Eagles’ Thursday night game. The team’s slot cornerback had to leave early with a hamstring issue. There’s been no word on his status. Once again, stay tuned to BGN for more updates.

When quarterbacks are disagreeing with roughing the passer calls Womens Tyrann Mathieu Jersey , it’s probably a good sign that the rules have gone too far in their advantage.“Of course, it helps me out as a quarterback,” Watson said Wednesday, via John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “I’ve been playing this game for 12 to 14 years, and some of the calls are just crazy.”NFL officials have called 34 roughing the passer penalties in three weeks, Kevin Seifert of ESPN reports. But the competition committee has the rule on its agenda for a regularly scheduled conference call next week, and the league鈥檚 former head of officials, Mike Pereira, expects a change in how roughing the passer is officiated.“I’m cool with it because I want to be safe and sound Womens Nick Martin Jersey , but at the same time, let’s play football,” Watson said. “It goes both ways. Some of the times, when the defensive guys are trying to hold up, they get hurt.“I’m the quarterback, and I’m being honest with you, let the guys play and see how it goes.” It’s unusual for there to be so much chatter around the NFL trading deadline, mostly because so few trades happen during the regular season and only a handful of those are particularly noteworthy in their size.In my memory, the biggest one I’ve ever seen was a trade between Washington and Denver which sent Clinton Portis to the [POTATOES] in exchange for Champ Bailey going to Denver.Speaking of Denver Youth Christian Covington Jersey , it appears they may be trying to unload a certain wide receiver and the recipient of that player?Your Houston Texans, of course. You think if he were going to Chicago or something that I’d be writing about this?
According to Benjamin Allbright, who is well connected with the Denver sports scene, the Broncos are working on two trade possibilities. One of which involves the Houston Texans, the other is...well...New England, as if they need the friggin’ help. With Will Fuller done for the season, Demaryius Thomas does fill a hole, although there’s some argument about which receiver would be the best fit for that hole.Stop giggling, already. But as they say Authentic DeAndre Hopkins Jersey , beggars can’t be choosers and if Demaryius Thomas is the player that’s available, then that’s still a hell of a fix to the hole that Will Fuller’s torn ACL has left.Nothing’s set in stone of course and things are, as they say, in flux, but the clock is ticking as the trade deadline ends tomorrow at 3 p.m. CDT, so all there is for us to do is sit and wait and hope that something comes of these talks. Is there another receiver you’d want instead of Demaryius Thomas?Or a player at a different position.Let us know in the comments section.UPDATE:Sometimes, the rumor mill spits out the truth.Demaryius Thomas is now a member of your Houston Texans.

They’ve started out terribly http://www.authenticspittsburghsteelers.com/cheap-stephon-tuitt-jersey , but have stormed back after their first four games. In every single must-win game they’ve faced this season, they’ve risen to the occasion and won. They’ve improved on both sides of the ball dramatically and finally deserve to be viewed as one of the best teams in the AFC. Can they compete with those top-level teams? Thursday night will be a big test to see if they can indeed compete with upper-echelon teams. Here are eight takeaways from this big win over the Ravens:Joshua Dobbs > Landry JonesI really don’t have to say much about Dobbs today. He made an absolutely huge throw and called an audible on it too. That not only was a gutsy play-call, but a frozen rope perfectly placed by Dobbs. He’s a young kid who I believe really has some nice potential to grow into far more than a backup. Landry Jones is who he is.A decent backup who cannot become anything more than that. Dobbs, on the other hand, oozes potential and could possibly emerge as the heir to the Steelers’ QB position. Jones was the riskier cut due to the need to win now, but Dobbs was a vote for the future, and the Steelers stuck by that brilliantly. Just a clutch play by Dobbs. The refs were terribleI can’t say enough about how bad they were. From the “fumble” or “interception” at the end of the half, which was not even close and cost the Steelers 10 seconds, to the egregiously bad pass-interference calls — they called everything that shouldn’t have been called and didn’t call the things that should be called. They missed a few holds on Cam Heyward throughout the game, and Bud Dupree was being held all day. You want to know why Bud wasn’t seen as much as you thought he would against a guy who struggles against speed rushers — because he was being held and it was never called. It was the Steelers against the refs on Sunday.Mike Hilton needs to get paid — NOWI’m not wrong in saying Hilton is the best run-defending nickel-CB in the league. And he’s pretty darned good in coverage too. No doubt, if not for Chris Harris Jr., Hilton would be the best slot-CB in the NFL. He’s never beaten and he makes an impact in all areas of the field.I said in a film room last week how the Steelers use him much like a small LB, and that rings true. Hilton is essential to this team and he deserves to be paid accordingly. I hope he gets his payday because he’s simply amazing for this team.Get Sean Davis paid tooThe biggest game-changer in the secondary isn’t Joe Haden but Sean Davis. We knew Haden could be a lock-down guy and he’s been just that, but Davis had been an uncertainty at a position where the Steelers haven’t had a true centerfielder since Troy Polamalu.Davis is that guy. He’s been fantastic in coverage and has tackled well too. With him now gaining confidence, he’s flying around the field and showing, not only his sound self with great tackling ability, but also his aggressive self. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him get an INT or two in the next few weeks. Davis is what you would call, ascending. Time for him to get him paid, too. Terrell Edmunds has had a rough go of things, but he’s progressingI love Tom Bradley so far. Look what he’s done to reinvigorate Joe Haden, transform Sean Davis, and even have Hilton elevate his level of play. But his best work presently is going on with rookie Terrell Edmunds. Edmunds hasn’t been good to start the season, but he’s shown the progression and flashes you want to see from a raw prospect. He’s been showing more and more ball skills, and his angles are slowly but steadily improving. Edmunds still needs to learn the nuances of the position, but you can already see Bradley is working his magic here. So far, I like the hire. Now, if he can just turn Artie Burns around.James Washington is finally flashingDid Washington have a great game? No. But I could see his progression from the games prior to the bye-week. Washington looks far smoother and finally seems to have a semblance of timing with Roethlisberger. His releases have gotten much better, and he was open more than he was targeted today. I’m looking forward to the all-22 on Washington, as you could see him finally use his hands to get press off of him. It’s been small steps for Washington, but don’t worry, he’ll come along. Washington will be the answer at WR3.Don’t look now, but Bud Dupree might be turning a cornerBoth literally, because he’s finally developing, and figuratively because Youth Antonio Brown Jersey , well, this is easily his best season. Is Dupree just one of those late bloomers? I have no clue, but it’s undeniable that he’s having a good season. Dupree has been average in some games, but his bend was always there, now he’s finding out how to use his hands to leverage his speed in getting around the edge. He’s become so much more disciplined too, and doesn’t get run up the arc. The biggest difference is his pre-snap mind. He clearly has a plan and goes with it. He needs to use his hands to win inside now and to find more explosiveness on his first step — but I like where Dupree is going. Dupree has already exceeded his 2017 “pressures” total of 40, and already has eight QB hits, which means he’s easily on pace for a career high. There might be some additional upside left in him.Jesse James can burn CBsPrayers to Brandon Carr — I don’t know how you get burnt by Jesse James, especially when he’s as slow as he is, but this double-move has Carr biting. So Jesse James deserves to beheavily crowned in all areas.Former Steelers that didn’t survive cut-down day with other franchises While Steelers Nation and players alike constantly were checking their electronic devices and phones all day long to see which names would wind up on the 2018 53-man roster, men with ties to the Black-and-gold awaited their fates in other cities as well. While the biggest name on the list was Martavis Bryant, due to his dismissal in Oak-town, other names familiar to Steelers fans are now looking for love from other organizations.WR Martavis Bryant-OaklandWhile the former fourth-rounder from 2014 was slow to pick up John Gruden’s offense, the decision to cut losses with Bryant ultimately stemmed from reports of another looming suspension. The trade of Martavis for a third-rounder looks even more brilliant now. As a Steeler, Bryant had 1,988 total yards and 18 TDs, playing in only 36 games of a possible 72. His personal demons led to suspensions and destroyed what might have been a brilliant career.Photo by Justin K. Aller/Getty ImagesWR Markus Wheaton-Philadelphia The Oregon State Beaver was picked in the third-round in 2013 by the Steelers, but he only amassed 107 catches, 1,508 yards and eight TDs in a disappointing tenure in Pittsburgh. Leaving town as a free agent in 2017, Wheaton tanked in Chicago and signed with the Super Bowl champs in 2018.OL Kyle Friend-CarolinaThe undrafted lineman from Mechanicsburg initially went to the Jets in 2016. Eventually, on and off of the practice squad there, Friend spent 2017 on Pittsburgh’s practice squad. In May, the Center ended up signing with Carolina before becoming a camp casualty.OG Ethan Cooper-Kansas CityThe undrafted free agent from IUP was a late-2017 cut by the Steelers. The Division II All-American in ‘16 spent a part of last year on the Giants’ PS. Cooper spent 2018 in two training camps with Green Bay and KC. WR Cobi Hamilton-Indianapolis This guy was picked in Round 6 by Cincy in 2013 and spent two stints there (with one in Philly in between), almost entirely on the practice squad. Hamilton had brief stints in Miami and Carolina before joining the Steelers in August of ‘16. In October of that year, No. 83 was promoted to the 53-man roster and played a significant role that year during the regular season and playoffs.
Cobi was a final cut in 2017 and bounced around with the Texans, Cardinals and Colts. But most of his career success, was as a Steeler.CB Doran Grant-ChicagoThe Ohio State Buckeye was picked in Round 4 by the Steelers in 2015. He never graduated from the off-season roster or practice squad with Buffalo, the Giants, Jacksonville and now the Bears.TE Scott Orndoff-Jacksonville Seton-La Salle’s Orndoff received an injury settlement from the Steelers last year after staying at home as an UDFA. Since then, the talented TE from Pitt tried to catch on with Detroit, spent time on Cincy’s practice squad in 2017 and went to camp with the Jags in 2018.LB Terence Garvin-MiamiGarvin was well-regarded due to his successful minicamp tryout with the Steelers in 2013. Initially assigned to the practice squad, Garvin joined the active roster less than a week later. Earning his keep as a special-teamer, the West Virginia Mountaineer notoriously broke the jaw of Cincy Punter Kevin Huber later that year. After three years as a Steeler Black James Conner Jersey , Garvin was a Redskin in 2016 and a Seahawk in 2017. Garvin signed with the Dolphins in 2018, but didn’t make the 53-man squad.RB Terrell Watson-Los Angeles Chargers Cincinnati signed the UFDA running back in 2015 and he spent all of that year on the practice squad. He was on the practice squad in Cleveland, Denver and Philadelphia in 2016. In Philly, he played one game on the active roster and scored a TD. “The Nightmare” was a camp phenom for the Steelers in 2017 and lasted on the 53-man roster before finishing the year on the practice squad. In 2018, the Azusa Pacific product was signed and released by the Giants and now the Chargers.Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesDE Cashaud Lyons-DenverThe UDFA arrived in Pittsburgh after Tampa’s final cuts in 2015. He spent time on the 53-man roster and the practice squad through 2016. In 2017, Lyons failed to stick-and-stay with Tennessee, the Rams, Detroit and Chicago. Signed to a futures deal with Minnesota, Cashaud was waived in May and landed in Denver in June.S Shamarko Thomas-DenverThe Steelers were so enamored with the Syracuse Orangeman that they traded a third-rounder in 2014 to select him in the fourth round of the 2013 Draft. He rarely made an impact, though, and was placed on the IR on Christmas Eve of 2016. That concluded his career in the Burgh. In 2017, Shamarko was a final cut of the Jets. He ended up in a Buffalo uniform for the remainder of the season. This season, he was cut by Indy on August 11th and by the Broncos yesterday.WR Demarcus Ayers-Chicago Ayers was a seventh-rounder of the Steelers in 2016 and spent most of the year on the practice squad. In December of that year, the Houston Cougar was promoted and showed flashes of brilliance during his short tenure, including seven catches and a score in the season finale. Ayers was a final cut in 2017 and declined the practice squad in favor of the same role in New England. Released 23 days later, Ayers joined the Bears practice squad and signed a futures deal there in January.Photo by Justin K. Aller/Getty ImagesOG Chris Scott-New York GiantsThe 2010 fifth-rounder from Tennessee played two games in two years as a Pittsburgh Steeler. Cut and re-signed to the practice squad for the remainder of 2011, Scott ended up on practice squads in Green Bay, Tampa and Tennessee in 2012. The Bills signed Scott and he remained in Buffalo for the remainder of the season. From there, he spent four years in Carolina and played in Super Bowl 50. In 2018, he went to camp with the Giants.C Wesley Johnson-DetroitThe Steelers’ fifth-rounder in 2014 out of Vanderbilt, playing behind Maurkice Pouncey and Cody Wallace, was waived in October of that year and ended up with the Jets shortly after. Johnson started 24 of 41 games in green-and-white at Center before signing with the Lions early in 2018.RB Knile Davis- ChicagoHighly regarded out of Arkansas, Davis was picked in Round 3 in 2013 by the Chiefs. His kick-return of 108 yards as a rookie is tied for the longest in history, better than his 106-yarder that opened a 2014 playoff game. Davis was traded to the Packers in 2016, but was waived 13 days later and signed with the Jets only to be cut the next day. Three days later, Knile returned to KC. In 2017, the Steelers signed Davis as a free agent, but he was cut at the conclusion of camp. Knile was out of football until August when the Bears signed him. Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY SportsAt the time of this writing, alleged bubble guys like Texan Sammie Coates, Will Gay with the Giants and Washington’s Ziggy Hood remain on NFL rosters. Arthur Moats has been put on the IR in Arizona. On Sunday, more moves could be made. Stick with BTSC for up-to-date Steelers news and more.*Update: Gay was released by the Giants on Sunday.

Coming off a big emotional win Authentic Marcus Mariota Jersey , the Titans went on the road, played a bad team, and completely laid an egg on the offensive side of the ball. I specify “the offensive side of the ball” because the Titans defense deserved to win this game. The Bills offense averaged just 3.5 yards per play. Were there frustrating moments where the Titans defense struggled to tackle Bills backs LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory? Sure. There’s no doubt that Wesley Woodyard and Kenny Vaccaro were missed, but any time your defense holds a quarterback to 4.3 yards per attempt and allow just 3.3 yards per carry on the ground, that’s a pretty good day. The Titans defense didn’t allow a single Bills drive of more than 47 yards all game.Special teams were good as well so this loss belongs squarely on the Titans offense. Turnovers led to 10 of the Bills’ 13 points, making the Titans offense as much a hindrance as a help in this game. This is a painful loss for a team that appeared to be putting it all together a week ago. Here are the winners and losers from the game.WinnersAdoree’ JacksonJackson was excellent in coverage all game and made one of the biggest plays of the day when he popped the ball away from Andre Holmes and grabbed the interception, setting up Ryan Succop’s go ahead field goal in the 4th quarter. It was a huge play and Jackson continues to be one of the best players on the Titans defense.Derrick HenryHenry hasn’t had a great start to 2018, but he was the best part of the Titans offense in Buffalo. He finished with 56 yards on 11 carries with many of those coming after contact. He played really well in this game and I have no idea why he wasn’t used more.Malcolm ButlerI rarely even saw Butler during the game which is usually a good thing for a cornerback. He also was a part of a pass defense that allowed just 79 (79!!!) passing yards. At the very least, Butler avoided getting torched for a long touchdown this week. That alone qualifies as a win for him given how his season has gone so far. Ryan SuccopSuccop was money today. He went 4 for 4 on field goal attempts, including a 54 yard kick. He’s having another good season and when you look at the kicking struggles around the NFL it’s nice to have someone you can count on in a big spot. LosersMatt LaFleurWe just spent the last few weeks praising the Titans offensive coordinator, but he deserves some heavy criticism this week for a game plan that seemed to lack much of a plan at all. Most confounding to me, was the lack of interest in sticking with Derrick Henry on the ground when he was clearly the more effective back. Lewis struggled to get going all game and put the ball on the ground for a costly turnover. I don’t think they should have benched him outright, but I certainly thought we should have seen more Henry.I also thought the lack of designed runs for Mariota was strange. I know the Titans don’t want to over rely on their quarterback’s legs, but he’s a very effective weapon that could have helped in a game where not much was effective for the offense. The defense did enough to win this game Youth Wesley Woodyard Jersey , but the offense let them down.Kamalei CorreaCorrea had a really really really bad game. First, he lost contain on the backside of a Josh Allen bootleg which allowed the Bills quarterback to get free and take it in for a 17-yard touchdown. As the backside defender against a mobile QB, you simply can’t have that happen, especially on a 2nd and 10 play. Correa also dropped what looked like it would have been a huge pick-6 on the busted fake field goal attempt by the Bills.
The ball goes right off his hands with nothing but green grass ahead of him.He tacked on an inexcusable unnecessary roughness call for hitting Josh Allen on the sideline. It was a brutal day for Correa.Nick WilliamsWilliams made a big play with his long punt return that set up an early field goal, but he dropped an easy touchdown on a beautiful throw from Mariota. It’s the second week in a row the Titans have had a back breaking drop from a wide open receiver. It didn’t cost them last week, but it caught up with them in Buffalo. If Williams catches that ball it’s almost certainly an ugly Titans win that we’re talking about instead of an ugly Titans loss.Williams also failed to cross the face of Bills nickel corner Taron Johnson which caused Mariota’s interception. Those are two huge swings in this game and they are both concentration lapses that just can’t happen.Marcus MariotaFirst, I don’t think Mariota played terribly. The interception was really on Nick Williams and of course he was once again let down by a huge drop, but he certainly didn’t play well either. The 14 of 26 for 129 yards stat line isn’t going to get it done. The Titans QB appeared rattled by the Bills early pressure in this game, often looking uncomfortable in the pocket. Mariota passed up several opportunities to take deep shots down the field as the Bills appeared to be willing to sit back and make the Titans string together short completions rather than risk giving up a chunk play. It was just a very safe and, frankly, boring effort from the Titans quarterback on a day where they needed more from him. He also took a terrible delay of game penalty on a 3rd and 4 that was followed by timeout and then a sack that forced Succop’s field goal back to 54 yards. The kicker bailed him out, but that was a terrible sequence from Mariota. Taywan Taylor and Dion LewisThe one way the Titans were going to lose this game was to give up dumb turnovers and help the Bills anemic offense out and that’s exactly what these guys did. The Bills did a good job ripping at the ball every time they tackled, but these weren’t helmet-on-the-ball type fluke fumbles, they were just sloppy plays by two guys that the Titans need to be playmakers. The Tennessee Titans are doing their best to keep their core players together http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-brian-orakpo-jersey , and now wide receiver Rishard Matthews is the latest to receive a contract extension. The Titans announced Tuesday they extended Matthews through 2019, a surprising move for a veteran who missed the offseason and has been on the physically unable to perform list this preseason."Rishard has had a lot of success since he's been here," coach Mike Vrabel said. "I think that's the plan going forward with everybody. The guys that we think can help us win in the future and win now, we'd like to keep those guys around and extend them."Matthews signed with Tennessee in March 2016 after spending the first four seasons of his career with Miami. He's had his best seasons since joining the Titans.Since 2016, he has 118 catches for 1,740 yards and 13 touchdowns in Tennessee, and he ranks ninth in the NFL among receivers with at least 100 receptions averaging 14.7 yards per catch. The receiver has 225 catches for 3,136 yards and 21 touchdowns in his career. Matthews was heading into the final year and due $5 million under the contract he first signed with Tennessee.Being out with an undisclosed injury meant Vrabel and his assistants had to gauge Matthews off tape of his past two seasons. Vrabel said they feel good about Matthews' work and where he is at, hoping to see the receiver soon when he's ready to go."He has been very professional with the walk-throughs and the meetings," Vrabel said."Watching from behind the huddle and getting the call while trying to take the mental reps the best that he can and stay away from things. It's a process, but I think he's taken it in stride and he's been a real pro."

Sidney Jones earns praise for acrobatic effort Tied up 13-13 late in the third quarter Youth Derek Barnett Jersey , the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles needed a stop. Backs against the wall again, the defense stood on it’s head.On first down, the Colts came out in bunch right and tried to sneak tight end Eric Ebron up the seam. Before the play it looks like Jalen Mills’ recognizes the strength of the formation and potential trouble down that seam and motions to Malcolm Jenkins to favor his coverage that way. Jenkins is keyed in on TY Hilton, however, which is always a good idea against the Colts, and picks up his over route. That leaves Ebron streaking through the heart of the Eagles zone defense.Once Ebron passes, the light bulb clicks on for Sidney Jones. There’s no threat in front of him, and a 6’4” 253 pound red zone threat behind him. He makes a snap decision and retreats just in time to make a play on the ball for an incompletion. That’s one touchdown saved. The next save on second down would be otherworldly. No fancy breakdown needed here; this is a freakish play. It displays athleticism Color Rush Destiny Vaeao Jersey , balance, football IQ, tenacity and all the other things you want in your defensive backs. Jones defeats the cut block of Ryan Grant by turning into Wolverine and then grabs both tackle Denzelle Good and wide receiver Zach Pascal. This holds up both of them up to free up Mills to secure the tackle. The Colts would fail to convert on third down and settle for a field goal; it’s a big win for the defense considering the circumstances. Is it a penalty for defensive holding? It depends on your interpretation of Rule 12, Section 1, Article 6 of the NFL Rule Book.Regardless of what you think of the no-call, this play saves a touchdown flagged or not. If Jones is stoned by Grant’s cut block or if Jones doesn’t engage the cluster of Colts players, Good is given a free run at Mills. Bottom line, Jones prevents an easy six.Recognizing the insane Color Rush Corey Graham Jersey , acrobatic effort by Jones, this play was picked up by The Checkdown, the NFL Digital Media’s football culture brand. And once official outlets start giving it love, players started chiming in. One of which was Malcolm Jenkins, who expressed his astonishment over the play.Jones deserves the praise from us, the media, his teammates and others in the league. Not only for this individual effort on both first and second down as shown above, but his overall play.
The second round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is seeing his first meaningful action for the Eagles and he’s been lights out.In three games http://www.authenticsphiladelphiaeagles.com/cheap-rodney-mcleod-jersey , Pro Football Focus credited Jones with 96 coverage snaps, 14 targets, 8 receptions and 39 yards. That’s key for a defense that had to replace the contributions made by Patrick Robinson last year at nickel. The coaching staff has shown increasing trust in him by giving him his highest percentage of snaps (78%) against the Colts. The Eagles have used a healthy amount of big nickel packages with third safety Corey Graham eating into Jones’ snaps. If plays like this continue to happen though, it’s going to be tough to justify not having Jones on the field more often. It’s happening folks; Sidney Jones is living up to the hype. The NFL trade deadline expires tomorrow at 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday, October 30. We’ve already seen the Eagles rumored to be interested in a number of players: Le’Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, Emmanuel Sanders, etc. Most of the trade rumors involving the Eagles have been focused on running backs Youth DeAndre Carter Jersey , wide receivers, or cornerbacks. It only makes sense since those are positions of need for Philadelphia. But those aren’t the only positions where the Eagles could use some help. Defensive line is also a significant need with the Eagles relying on guys like Treyvon Hester and Bruce Hector to play meaningful snaps at defensive tackle. Derek Barnett’s injury has also forced the Eagles into using less of a rotation at defensive end. It’s clear the coaching staff doesn’t have a ton of trust in Josh Sweat considering the rookie only played four defensive snaps in Week 8.The Eagles’ need for defensive line help is what inspired this trade idea from ESPN’s Mike Sando:Again, the idea of adding to the defensive line isn’t a terrible one. But this ain’t it, chief. Robinson isn’t a Jernigan-like player who’s going to push the pocket. This is a guy who has 2.5 sacks and eight quarterback hits in 38 career games played. Zero of those stats have come this season. It’s true that Robinson is a really good run defender. But the Eagles, who are allowing the fourth fewest rushing yards per game this season, don’t need to be spending a valuable fourth-round pick for this kind of player. Also, I feel like this is some terrible logic by the NFL evaluator that Sando consulted here. The Eagles should give up a higher pick for a player who is lesser than Damon Harrison? Robinson is younger and cheaper than Harrison but that doesn’t move the needle enough.

They’ve allowed 36 points their last three games Youth D.J. Reader Jersey , which comes out to 12 points a game. Against run heavy teams, they’re damn near impossible to score on. You know the names. Not even Ezekiel Elliott could get going against the Texans. Yet those were three teams who have bottom of the barrel passing offenses. The best receiver the Texans faced in those games was, what, Michael Gallup?Dede Westbrook?, Zay Jones? The same secondary that allowed an 80% completion percentage to Eli Manning, that saw T.Y. Hilton abuse them and Andrew Luck put 34 up on them is still there. They’ve just been hidden by terrible opposing wide receivers and offenses that have to run the ball to get moving. Houston is now a playoff team at 4-3.They should remain one Youth Ryan Griffin Jersey , especially when considering their schedule. Their remaining opponents are great match-ups for Houston’s defense, aside from the Eagles and the Colts, the latter of whom’s entire defense is injured. The problems will arise again in the playoffs if the Texans play Kansas City, or Los Angeles (C), or New England again, or Pittsburgh. Pass-heavy spread offenses can take advantage of Houston’s lack of cornerback talent. For Houston to do something more than beat the Bengals at home in the NFL Playoffs Womens Julién Davenport Jersey , improving their secondary is vital. Patrick Peterson rumors have squawked around the internet. The Cardinals have won a single game. Their season has been ruined by Mike McCoy (now fired) and a terrible offensive line. They still have a top ten defense, and Peterson has been integral to it. According to Football Outsiders’ Premium Charting Data, Peterson is 7th in yards allowed per pass, 1st in success rate, 41st in average air target, 9th in yards allowed after the catch http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/whitney-mercilus-jersey-authentic , and he has two interceptions. He’s been spectacular.
He’s still only 28 years old. And he’s under contract through 2020, with his cap hit being around $12 million and $13 million in the next two years. That’s less than Trumaine Johnson received on the open market this year. I’m pro-Peterson trade. It will help Houston be something more than an inevitable second round knockout if they make the postseason. Peterson could play for two and a half more years on this team, all while being at the middle age of his career. The Texans probably won’t be able to find anyone as good as him on the open market, and if they do, it will cost more that what Peterson will make in 2019 and 2020. I think most Texans fans sgree with this assessment. From what I’ve seen, most want Peterson to move from the southwest United States to the southeast of Texas. The question now is what’s the most you would be willing to give up for him.Texans-Colts Preview: Three Reasons the Texans Will Win...From A Colts Fan The Houston Texans will take the field Sunday in Indianapolis already in an 0-3 hole. The 2018 season is quickly hurdling toward the sun http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/deandre-hopkins-jersey-authentic , but it says here there are 13 games left on the schedule.A road win against a divisional opponent would be a great way to end an otherwise horrific run to the quarter-pole.Chris Blystone from Stampede Blue checked in with us to offer up his three reasons why the Houston Texans will prevail.Similarly, I wrote up three reasons why the Colts might win Sunday, leaving the Texans at 0-4 going into a (previously) anticipated national TV match-up against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football next week. Thanks to Chris and Stampede Blue for the #contentexchange.Let’s see how Chris could envision a possible Texans win at Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend:

On the play Womens Le'Veon Bell Jersey , before he headed to the sidelines, Conner took a shot by Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. Conner was helped up, but jogged off and appeared to have no ill effects from the hit. Returning briefly to the game on the last play of the third quarter, Conner did not return to the game after the quarter change. Conner was having a solid game with 13 carries for 65 yards and an 8 yard gain on his lone reception before being sent to the locker room for further evaluation. Steeler fans will question why head coach Mike Tomlin still had the Steelers workhorse in a blowout game while knocking on the door for another score with the team leading 45-14. Conner will have 10 days to pass the concussion protocol before Pittsburgh takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 11. Concussions are always a tricky injury and even with the extra time, there is no guarantee to pass the protocol necessary to retake the field in time for the game. If Conner cannot pass the protocol, the scenario becomes muddied. Three-time Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell is still not with the team as he continues his extended offseason as he has not signed the franchise tag. Bell has until Tuesday to sign his franchise tag if he intends to play in 2018. Even if Bell signs his tender Womens Jordan Berry Jersey , it is unclear if the Steelers will activate him or use their two-week roster exemption. The next man up would presumably be journeyman Stevan Ridley. Ridley, the former LSU Tiger, toted the ball eight times for 26 yards but offers little in the passing game and pass protection. Overall in 2018, he has 18 carries for 56 yards (3.1 YPC) and 3 receptions for 18 yards. Ridley made a week 17 start last season, but it was his first in three seasons. Rookie running back Jaylen Samuels would be the third-down specialist and change of pace back. Samuels was ineffective running the ball during the Carolina game rushing 5 times for seven yards but had three receptions for 22 yards and a score. On the season, the former North Carolina St. running back has rushed 10 times for 26 yards while his only catches came in the Thursday night game. The running back situation will be fluid the next week and will be a must see how the Bell situation pans out and if Conners can pass the concussion protocol. The Jaguars game comes at a critical juncture with the Steelers flying high with their five-game winning streak. Jacksonville Authentic Cameron Heyward Jersey , on the other hand, has lost three in a row and are buried at the bottom of their division.
The Jaguars have the league’s best defense against the pass while they struggle at 24th against the run. Can the Steelers generate a running attack without Bell or Conner to succeed in this all-important game?Steelers Week 3 injury report: David DeCastro, Marcus Gilbert and Morgan Burnett all doubtful vs. Buccaneers The final injury report of the week for the Pittsburgh Steelers has officially listed two key offensive lineman as doubtful for the game against the Tampa Buccaneers and it seems very likely that at least one of them is all but guaranteed to miss the contest. With David DeCastro sitting out the last three days of practice and all of the week before, there is almost no chance he will be cleared to play on Monday given how much time he has missed and the nature of his injury. Marcus Gilbert has also been listed as doubtful after being limited on Saturday and sitting out the rest of the week, and it would be safe to say the starting right tackle is a game time decision at best as well. The status of Moran Burnett remains up in the air following a second missed day of practice while he deals with a groin injury. Like Gilbert, he has been listed a doubtful for Week 3 and fans should prepare for both players to be on the sidelines in Tampa. When speaking to reporters Authentic James Conner Jersey , although Gilbert was hopeful he might still recover in time, he could not commit to playing quite yet. Despite taking some reps in what he described as a “casual practice”, it was clear he needed to wait until Monday to see how his hamstring felt during warm ups before he would know for sure.Gilbert would be covered by Matt Feiler on the day if he cannot go, while B.J. Finney would replace DeCastro at right guard and a combination of Nat Berhe and Terrell Edmunds should see snaps in place of Burnett. There was better news for four other names battling back from issues that had sidelined two of them in Week 2 after Joe Haden, Tyson Alualu, Ramon Foster and Stephon Tuitt were all full participants again for the team’s final practice. Haden and Alualu should both be available on Monday despite missing the game against the Kansas City Chiefs Womens David DeCastro Jersey , while Foster seems to be coping well with a knee injury that has been causing him problems as of late. Thankfully, the illness that kept Tuitt out of practice on Friday does not seem like it will prevent him from paying against the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers Week 3 injury report:

Titans Tennessee Titans Hoodie , Marcus Mariota Return to Heinz Field November 16, 2017 marks the date of arguably the worst game of QB Marcus Mariota’s professional career. The three previous weeks included an overtime win against the winless Browns, and two dogfights against the Ravens and the Bengals. The Titans earned wins in each game, but by no more than seven points combined. It took a game winning drive orchestrated by Mariota to squeak by Cincinnati, a drive that left the Titans QB a little banged up. The key play took place with a little over one minute left in regulation. On 2nd and 2, Mariota scrambled for a five yard gain and landed directly on his face. Initially, he appeared concussed and the Titans called a timeout following the play. After the game it was reported it was his non-throwing shoulder that was hurt. I still am of the belief his bell was rung - and it lingered into Pittsburgh.Prime Time SpotlightDefeating the Bengals had put the Titans on the map, as it was their best start in nearly a decade. In order to gain national respect, a win in Pittsburgh against one of the AFC powerhouses would help the Titans case.Instead, a nightmare performance ensued. It was the debut of the new “SkyCam” view as the primary angle. Through that view, Titans fans were left scratching their heads on errant Mariota throws and stuttering runs in open space by former RB DeMarco Murray. Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsIn Mariota’s showdown against “Big” Ben Roethlisberger Youth Customized Tennessee Titans Jerseys , he was on the wrong side of the stat sheet. Mariota threw four interceptions to Roethlisberger’s four touchdowns.Although the Titans defense was able to bottle up RB Le’Veon Bell on the ground, he still did some damage as a receiver by adding 57 yards to his 103 total yards from scrimmage. The Steelers capitalized on the Titans turnovers, adding nine points following each interception. A quick score on the first play of the second half pulled the Titans within two points - which goes unnoticed when the final score makes the game look like more of a blowout than it truly was.Three consecutive Steelers touchdowns put the game out of reach and didn’t help the Titans build any respect as a contender in the AFC.The Steelers’ playmaking receiver - and current Madden cover guy - WR Antonio Brown carved up the Titans secondary , generating highlight reel catches with ease.Yes, Mariota doesn’t play defense, so how is he to blame for Brown’s monstrous night? The turnovers and inability to move the offense downfield or generate touchdowns is how.Mariota must demonstrate his decision making has improved.New Year, New OffenseMariota - in typical Mariota fashion - took all of the blame for the loss and cited making “bad decisions”. The third preseason game is holds the most weight in terms of importance. Not in terms of points, but in terms of reps. The starters typically see the most action in the third week of the preseason.Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY SportsMariota has played a total of three series. He marched the team down the field on the opening possession against Green Bay. It took him 12 plays against Tampa Bay to put points on the board. Overall, Mariota has looked like a quarterback who is finding comfort in the execution of a new offense, but still has room for improvement. Some of his passes have sailed and there may has been some miscommunication with his receivers, but overall I’d say his progress is natural. As Dan Orlovsky has already pointed out the process will take time www.titansauthorizedshops.com , but once everything begins to click for Mariota, a “meteoric takeoff” should take place. This week, Mariota hopes to make some plays and more positive memories at Heinz Field. HC Mike Vrabel has indicated we may see more from the running game this week, but expect Mariota to have his share of opportunities to make plays through the air. What does a successful preseason look like for the Titans? Preseason NFL football is strange. I feel nearly the exact same range of emotions for each game every year. Game 1: Thrilled to see the team on the field again. Don’t even really care how they play. This game is a giant bucket of ice cold water in the desert. Game 2: Less interested. Really just waiting to see what happens in Game 3 now.Game 3: The dressed rehearsal game is probably the best overall preseason game. The starters usually play until around halftime and you really want to see some nice, crisp execution from that group before the backups head in.Game 4: WHO CARES, WHY IS THIS STILL HAPPENING?But what really matters in the preseason? Do wins and losses matter? I did some digging and it turns out that it doesn’t really matter much, if at all. There are plenty of anecdotes that point to this — the 0-16 Lions going 4-0 in the preseason is my favorite — but the data confirms that the correlation between preseason wins and regular season wins is virtually non-existent. In fact, this study shows that teams with a 2-2 preseason record have the highest winning percentage compared to the other possible preseason results (1-3 is the worst). Looking at the Titans’ results over the past 10 seasons, you can see that preseason records really have no bearing on how the team performs in the regular season. 2017: 1-3, 9-72016: 3-1, 9-72015: 2-2 Tennessee Titans Womens T-Shirt , 3-132014: 2-2, 2-142013: 1-3, 7-92012: 3-1, 6-102011: 3-1, 9-72010: 2-2, 6-102009: 3-2*, 8-82008: 3-1, 13-3*Titans played in the Hall of Fame Game in 2009.As much as anything during the preseason, fans should be cheering for injury avoidance. I found this study from the 2017 season that plotted the number of “man-games” lost for each team versus the number of regular season wins and found it to be pretty interesting.Graphically, you can see that losing lots of starters significantly decreases a team’s chances of going to the playoffs. When all eleven players on the field for your team get up at the end of a play, that’s even better than a long touchdown pass in the preseason. While wins and losses and stats may not matter Tennessee Titans Hats , I believe execution does. You want to see players being able to go out and execute the plays that are called, especially the first team units. Last season we saw the Titans offense struggle mightily with execution in the preseason and that carried over directly in to the regular season. The hope will be that we see a much cleaner operation this year. You want to see guys knowing their assignments and being in the right places at the right time. Minimizing penalties and ME’s (mental errors) is a sign of good execution and a team that is understanding the offensive and defensive install during camp. While I’m excited to see what the new offense looks like in a game setting, most schemes are in their most dumbed-down, vanilla versions during preseason and I would expect that to be the case for the Titans tonight. You aren’t seeing a staff put together an opponent specific gameplan designed to beat the other team with the possible exception of Week 3. Don’t get me wrong, we will certainly see the basics of what the offense and defense will be built off of in Green Bay, but if it looks like they’re only running a few very basic plays, it’s probably because they are.It is going to be fun to see some of the young guys trying to make the roster getting their opportunity to play. You never know when a Drew Bennett or Victor Cruz is going to show up out of nowhere and become a legitimate starter. However, the most important thing that can happen tonight and for the rest of the preseason is for the Titans to get some good, clean execution from their starters and then get them out of the game healthy. That’s a successful preseason. Anything beyond that is just gravy.

Jay Ajayi is good to go despite fractured back Youth Corey Clement Jersey , says Doug Pederson The Eagles head coach is still fielding a lot of questions about injuries to key players, but the team is welcoming running back Jay Ajayi to the field on Sunday despite his back injury. Here’s what Pederson had to say:On Titans prepJay Ajayi is officially back for the Eagles on Sunday after rehabbing a fractured back. Pederson admitted, “it sounds bad,” and he even had that same injury during his time as a player, and it’s a go-as-tolerated type injury.“He’s a tough kid and he’s battled through it, and he’s really felt fine.”Pederson was asked about facing a quarterback who can do so much offensively, whether it’s the zone read or wildcat situations, and he talked about it being a unique style but the Eagles’ defense is used to facing that type of multi-faceted offense in practice. He also pointed out it’s all about discipline for the defense, making sure they review the film and training their eyes to make the right reads. The head coach was then asked about Nelson Agholor’s performance over the first three games of the season, and Pederson noted he’s been playing well and real consistent. On top of that Cheap Dallas Goedert Jersey , he’s stepped up and taken on a much bigger load with injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Mike Wallace.Carson Wentz earlier in the week said that he has a target goal of 70% completion rate, but Pederson admitted that’s a bit lofty, but if he’s at high-60’s the team is happy.Pederson was also asked about whether they pay attention to the defense allowing more points on the road, and their overall away game production. The head coach acknowledged that of course they do, and they even talk about how to handle their road games during training camp.He continued to talk about how there are so many extra tiny distractions that come along with playing on the road. They have friends and family members in the hotels, different coaches pulling them in multiple directions, and so there’s a lot more to be focused on as they prepare for an away game.On injuriesOut of respect for Rodney McLeod, Pederson wouldn’t comment on the severity of the injury and the team still isn’t sure if they will end up putting the safety on IR or if he’ll even be out the whole season. It’s too early to tell. The head coach also wouldn’t really go into what they were going to do to make up for the loss of McLeod roster-wise, but Pederson has been working with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz this week to make sure they are covered. “We’ve got a plan and we’re comfortable with what we’ve got.” (But, he also said they are looking for anyone outside that could add depth.)Alshon Jeffery was medically cleared earlier this week but missed practice on Thursday due to an illness. Pederson said the wide receiver isn’t really feeling much better Cheap Alshon Jeffery Jersey , and that after speaking with team doctors, they say the virus is about a 24-48 hours deal.Pederson did say that they had seen enough from Jeffery on Wednesday, and then have some time on Saturday — with a late departure — to determine whether he’ll be able to play on Sunday. He said that the team has tested Darren Sproles this week, and he’s not quite there yet in terms of getting back out there on game day, but he’s getting close with his hamstring issue.Doug Pederson explains why Eagles signed Jordan Matthews Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has been in a much better mood this week, and whether it’s because he doesn’t have to field a dozen question about Carson Wentz’s return, or because he has his QB back in the first place, let’s just say the coach is smiling wider these days. The team is back at practice on Wednesday and there’s a lot of work to be done to not only get Wentz ready for his first game of the season, but to figure out what they are going to do with a banged up group of receivers and running backs.Pederson spoke to the media ahead of taking the field to talk Colts prep and injury concerns moving forward. On Carson Wentz’s returnPederson was asked about Wentz’s preparation and the head coach talked about being excited to see how he’s progressed with this offseason’s work.He also talked about the QB’s eventual first hit, and noted that “I hope it’s not a hard one” but that it gives confidence to the player who has been out for awhile. Having to get back up and see that you are ok goes a long way in getting back into the swing of things. On Jordan Matthews coming backDoug Pederson didn’t want to get into too many specifics about how Jordan Matthews will be used now that he’s been re-signed. He did say that Matthews “looked good in the workout Youth Brandon Graham Jersey , he’s healthy” and that they team is excited to get him back. The head coach said they didn’t see any lingering hamstring issues during Matthew’s workout yesterday and the medical team didn’t have any concerns.Pederson wouldn’t really talk about whether they’d put Matthews on the inside or outside, and said it’s challenging to give an answer since they so often move the guys around. He talked about Nelson Agholor being a big part of the offense in both spots, and has done a great job blocking in the run game too, so moving him around has been beneficial. He also talked about Matthews’ familiarity with the coaching staff, offense, and quarterback — especially with the receiver only being gone one season. It’s just a matter of catching him up and getting him ready to go for Sunday.Wentz had no impact on bringing Matthews back, but Pederson did say their friendship is a huge deal. He also lauded his leadership skills in the locker room and during practice. On Colts prepPederson said he’s excited to see Frank Reich again this weekend, and he’s aware of some of the advantages the former Eagles OC might have on Sunday. He noted however, that those advantages work both ways, and that they are seeing some familiar looks from the Colts’ offense http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/zach-ertz-jersey-cheap , and their DC came from Dallas, so there’s some familiarity there too.Pederson also talked a little about Andrew Luck, calling him an exciting quarterback to watch, and someone who looks like he’s getting stronger each week.Injury updates Jay Ajayi is day-to-day and they will see where he’s at near the end of the week.Darren Sproles is also day-to-day, but is a bit of a longer situation than Ajayi.Alshon Jeffery is back to 11-on-11 this week which is a big first step.Mike Wallace isn’t for sure done for the season, but is definitely week-to-week.

2018 Fantasy Football: Deshaun Watson Shouldn’t Be The No. 1 Quarterback In Fantasy Last week Andre Snellings Youth Christian Covington Jersey , a professional football writing man at ESPN.com, wrote an article titled ‘Why Deshaun Watson Is The No. 1 QB In Fantasy’.This isn’t what’s worth discussing in detail. What is worth discussing is what to expect from Watson next year, and why no, Watson shouldn’t be the number one quarterback in fantasy next year. Snellings gave five different ways to project what Watson is capable of doing next season:Snellings addressed each of these five factors. Let’s take a further look at what he had to say.Was Watson facing poor competition or a representative level of competition? Here’s the problem with that analysis: None of these teams had great, or even good, defenses in 2017. The best defense Watson faced as a starter was Seattle’s, but it wasn’t the same dominant pass defense we’ve seen the past few seasons. With Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Cliff Avril missing for large chunks of the season and the Seahawks’ pass rush decisions failing to work out, the Seahawks dropped from 5th to 13th in defensive DVOA. They finished 13th in pass defense DVOA and 17th in run defense DVOA. The rest of the defenses Watson faced as a starter finished 16th (Browns), 17th (Bengals), 21st (Titans), 30th (Chiefs), and 31st (Patriots). None of these teams had a pass defense better than Seattle’s, and each team (aside from Cincinnati) finished worst than 21st in pass defense DVOA. Watson played mediocre to bad defenses last season. I’m not smart enough to project these defenses into the future; I’ll have to wait until next month to see what the computer experts come up with. Although the Texans face the easiest projected schedule based on last year’s winning percentages Authentic DeAndre Hopkins Jersey , year-to-year win totals vary greatly because of the short NFL schedule, so Houston should have to face better defenses than what face value indicates. The New York Jets’ young defense should be better in 2018.Same with Tennessee’s, and the Texans have to play Jacksonville twice. The Broncos and Giants should bounce back as well. So, yes, Watson was in fact facing a poor level of competition last year. I expect for him to play tougher defenses in 2018. 2.Did Watson’s approach correlate with team success?Yes, quarterbacks are very important, and teams should want their quarterbacks to play well. Cool.Nothing more to see here. 3.Was he just lucky or unusually hot compared to future expectations?Last season, Watson scored 176 fantasy points using Pro Football Reference’s Standard. Of these 173 points, 76 of them were the result of touchdowns. Watson threw 19 touchdowns and ran for two more; more importantly, he had a touchdown rate of 9.3%, as mentioned in the article. That touchdown rate and the unlikelihood it can be sustained is something I wrote about back in March. Peyton Manning and Watson are the only quarterbacks this century to hit 9.0% after throwing a minimum of 200 passes. Since 1990, Peyton Manning is the only quarterback who has had a touchdown rate of 8.0% twice in his career. The average drop from quarterbacks who had a 9.0% touchdown rate is 3.7%. The average drop from quarterbacks who had a 8.0% touchdown rate is 3.86%.Watson throwing the ball downfield as well as the rest of the league has nothing to do with this. In fact, this goes against the author’s argument. Downfield passing is a skill. Watson did something that is nearly irreplaceable in a scant sample size, and he did it in an offense that surprised the entire league. Defenses weren’t prepared for an interesting Houston offense filled with multi-faceted run plays, a mobile quarterback, and creative play fakes. Usually defenses are able to adjust to a brand new offense by the following season. Taking all this into account, the thing that made Watson a great fantasy quarterback—throwing lots of touchdowns—probably isn’t going to happen again in 2018. 4.How much should his knee injury affect this season’s projections?I’m not a doctor. I don’t know. Everyone who has seen Watson throw and run around in a red jersey and decal devoid helmet has had nothing but good things to say about him. However, who knows what to expect from his knee?Like a Texans’ offense that’s supposed to be dramatically different Womens Whitney Mercilus Jersey , we really won’t know how Watson looks until week one. More importantly, this doesn’t take into account the offensive line he’s going to play behind. I do think the Texans’ offensive line is going to be better than most expect it to be, but most are expecting it to be one of the worst units in football. I think it can be mediocre. The interior blocking should be corrected, except for occasional linebacker misses in the run game by Senio Kelemete. The tackle play is still going to be a question. Juli’en Davenport needed to get stronger this offseason; who knows if he did?If Martinas Rankin doesn’t start week one, Houston is looking at Seantrel Henderson at right tackle. Henderson hasn’t played since 2014 and was terrible when he played then. If Henderson starts, he’s probably going to be a Kendall Lamm level of disaster. Even if Watson’s knee is fine, he’s probably going to have to use it often when the year pops off. 5.What would a “regression to the mean” look like for him this season?Even if Watson is better this season than he was as as rookie, there’s no way he’s going to throw touchdown passes as often as he did last season. 20% is a conservative drop off fantasy wise for him. Because again, 50.8% of his fantasy points came from touchdowns, and he’s probably going to throw them half as often as he did last year. An increase in 300 yard passing games and a jump in rushing touchdowns is required to make up for this impending doom. These things could happen. But if you’re drafting a fantasy quarterback early, why take the risk with a player who threw a lot of touchdowns against mediocre to bad pass defense, is likely to see his touchdown rate regress, coming off a torn ACL, and playing behind a questionable offensive line when there are more stable options available? Overall, my heart isn’t heavy with worry when it comes to Watson.I’m not all the way there yet. I don’t think he’ll be able to do what he did last year again and probably won’t for the rest of his career, but he’s still a wizard in the pocket. He can throw deep passes with touch. The arm strength is good enough. He anticipates open receivers. His mobility creates a dynamic offense. The worst part of Watson’s game last year were the big, bad decisions that ended in dropped interceptions; young quarterbacks tend to make those mistakes. However, I’m not 100% sold on Watson yet. He did what he did in just six starts last year. That’s not a lot Womens Zach Cunningham Jersey , and the way he predominantly had success is unsustainable according to what every quarterback who has ever played has done. Despite everything, it’s reasonable to believe, and I do believe, that Watson will be competent enough in 2018 to run a successful offense. But NO, he shouldn’t be the number one quarterback taken in fantasy football in 2018.Houston Texans Final Score And Post-Game Recap: Texans 19, Cowboys 16 Last week, the Texans won because of a Frank Reich aggressive fourth down play call in overtime. Tonight, the Texans won because Deshaun Watson finally found DeAndre Hopkins in overtime. Nuk turned a completion into a YAC spinning reception that set up a field goal Houston made easier. This game, like the previous ones, was a stupid, stupid, stupid football game. In this one, Juli’en Davenport played well at left tackle. Watson played through an injury of some sort (cracked ribs?) and survived an insane game. The Texans stopped the run well.J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney were once again unstoppable to block; they were only beat by Dak Prescott.Dallas made some wild goal line stops.Houston had some questionable goal line play calls.Zach Cunningham made the play of his career. Kai’imi Fairbairn made a lot of field goals. Houston is the proud owner of the State of Texas until 2022. At 2-3, they have a hand poking out of the grave. They play the Bills next week.

If you’ve been hiding under a rock for the first three weeks of the NFL season Terrell Edmunds Jersey , you would emerge to find the most commonly-discussed issue pertaining to professional football is the increase in roughing-the-passer penalties. The Steelers’ Monday night game against the Buccaneers had four such penalties — the most in a single NFL game since 2001. With each penalty yielding an automatic first down, it’s a call that can change the landscape of any game.Throughout the league, there have been 33 accepted roughing-the-passer penalties so far in 2018. Over the last 10 years, there have been only five weeks in an NFL season where the number of roughing-the-passer penalties have hit double digits. Two of those five weeks are in 2018. Week 1 of this season and its 15 accepted penalties is on the very top of the list, with this past week of 12 penalties coming in third. Only Week 6 of the 2015 season separates those two with 13 penalties.Since 2009, the NFL has averaged 18.2 roughing-the-passer penalties during the first three weeks of the season. If the trend of 33 roughing penalties already amassed in 2018 continues throughout the regular season and playoffs, the projected number of penalties called would reach 184. To put this in perspective, there would be 77 more roughing penalties than in any other season during the last 10 years, and more than twice the average over that same time span. The reason for the increase in penalties can be attributed to the “point of emphasis” the league has placed on certain aspects of the rule. This practice isn’t new to the NFL’s evolution of roughing-the-passer penalties. In 2009, hitting a quarterback low was emphasized as roughing after Tom Brady was lost in Week 1 of the previous season. As the concern with head injuries has increased across the board, any contact to the quarterback’s head has now become a roughing penalty as well. A prime example is from Monday night’s game when Ben Roethlisberger was struck in the head by Jason Pierre-Paul.With the targeting zone in which a quarterback can be hit shrinking down from both the top and bottom, the point of emphasis this year is calling a roughing penalty when the defender is “falling with all or most of his body weight on the quarterback.” Interesting enough, it doesn’t matter at what point the quarterback releases the ball. It’s not about hitting him late; the penalty could be called even if the quarterback never gets the pass away. The reason for this emphasis is, once again, based on an injury the previous year. When Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in Week 6 last season, the Green Bay Packers’ season took a turn for the worse. Losing a player of Rodgers’ caliber is detrimental to the NFL and its money-making machine. It would be on a similar level as the NBA losing LeBron James for half a season. Ironically, it’s Rogers’ own Green Bay Packers that currently lead the league in roughing-the-quarterback penalties with five violations. Many self-proclaimed “football purists” are claiming the league is trying to turn the game into two-hand touch. Why is the NFL going to such lengths to protect the quarterback? I believe the answer is twofold. First, the quarterback position is the most marquee position on the field. Most football fans realize this fact. It’s the position most difficult to replace and thus commands the highest salary. Secondly, the quarterback is in the most vulnerable player on the field when attempting to pass. Once a quarterback drops back and is standing in the pocket, those players attempting to tackle him are moving at a much higher relative velocity. The quarterback isn’t exactly motionless, but he’s not traveling at a high rate of speed. The defenders, on the other hand, ate attempting to get to the quarterback as fast as possible. This puts the passer in a very precarious position. This situation is much like a shortstop being targeted when someone slides into second base to break up a double play. Another example is when a hockey player crashes into the goalie. The person not moving at a high rate of speed is the one who takes the brunt of the collision. So there’s a rationale behind protecting quarterbacks. But what are defenders to do? It seems as if the league has taken away the proper technique for tackling. The way I see it Authentic James Conner Jersey , there’s only one way (for now) to safely tackle the quarterback. It’s not easy, but it shouldn’t draw a penalty. The only technique I can think of to coach players would be to have the them wrap up, fall to the ground, and then pull the quarterback down on top of them.A good example of this technique was demonstrated by Bud Dupree in the second quarter of the game Monday night. On a 3rd-and-14 play (which Tampa unfortunately converted), with about 9:00 left before the half, Ryan Fitzpatrick dropped back to pass. Dupree made the hit just as Fitzpatrick released to the ball. Dupree then fell to the side and pulled Fitzpatrick down on top of him while keeping himself between the quarterback and the ground. As mentioned by Booger McFarland during the Monday night broadcast, this is a difficult technique. When a player is going full speed at someone, it’s not easy to fall to the side. But this is the NFL in which we’re now living.Until players adjust to this new point of emphasis, you’ll most likely continue to see a high amount of roughing-the-passer penalties. The Competition Committee held a conference call this week to address the situation, but as most football experts predicted, there will be no change pertaining to how the plays are called. It’s going be up to defenders to learn a new “wrap, drop and pull” technique, in order to avoid any roughing penalties. This new technique should work — until a quarterback gets hurt by having his leg rolled on by a falling defender — or the quarterback’s head gets whipped to the ground. Once this happens, the NFL will look to take away yet another option for defenders, out of fear of losing another moneymaker. Why Ben Roethlisberger continues to be ‘King of the Jungle’ against the Bengals Why Ben Roethlisberger Continue to be,’King of the Jungle,’ Against the Bengals:If there’s one encouraging sign Steelers Fans should feel good about it is Ben Roethlisberger’s career road statistics against the Bengals. It almost seems to be easy pickings, despite the last two tight games in Cincinnati. The Steelers find themselves in unfamiliar territory they haven’t felt in a long time, last place in the AFC North.Going into this game, the Steelers are a 1 陆 games back in the division race. To make matters worse, the Steelers have yet to win a game in not only the AFC, but the Division. These next three divisional games will be highly critical, especially beginning with the Bengals. The season Youth JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey , no doubt is hanging in the balance with this game!Let’s take a look at why Ben Roethlisberger will be called upon, once again, to play the role of hero in this bitter rivalry!Ben Roethlisberger has a career 12-2 record in Cincinnati with a 104.7 average QB Rating. Each loss came from a game apiece from Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton. He has averaged 241 Yards Passing, with 17 TD’s to 10 INT’s. It may not be the numbers which knock your socks off, but it’s enough for Roethlisberger to also be the Ultimate Game Manager in these circumstances. What’s even more impressive is how he hasn’t missed a career start when visiting Cincinnati. The key to this game will be to keep the interceptions to just one, at a minimum. He’s only lost twice in this aspect. On another note, another big factor, without the services of Le’Veon Bell, they are 1-2 lifetime in these decisive games.Yes, while James Conner is continuing to improve, it is incumbent Roethlisberger and the offense control the time of possession with first downs and quick strikes. More importantly, the more this season goes on without Bell, it is critical Roethlisberger doesn’t get lost for any length of time. Two years ago, just being out for yet alone one game, Ben’s absence cost the team a first-round bye which was snagged by the Chiefs. In 2012, he missed three games which pretty much sealed their playoff fate that season. Also, how much should we be concerned about Ben’s throwing elbow? This is the same elbow he injured in the Week 1 tie to the Browns. “It’s fine,” said Roethlisberger when speaking to the media on Wednesday. I don’t even need to talk about it. It’s good.”Either way you slice it, Roethlisberger has become a Bengals killer in Paul Brown Stadium. The Season may still on life support, but it’s time to look past a brutal rivalry and play fine quality of 60 minutes of football. No matter, Roethlisberger and company will be looked upon to come through in the clutch to get the Steelers out of the cellar and back in the hunt for the AFC North crown!
