NAIROBI Nike Air Max 2018 Sale , Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Kenya will next week host officials in space science sector from nine African countries to discuss the modalities of setting up the world's largest radio telescope, officials said on Friday.
Dubbed the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), the radio telescope project is a collaborative venture between African countries, European Union, China, Australia and Canada.
Conceived in 2006, the SKA project aims to boost observation of the outer space using a radio telescope. It will collect data within a one square kilometer radius and will be 10 Nike Air Max Sale ,000 times more powerful than existing radio telescopes.
"Senior officials and scientists will explore ways to consolidate Africa's support towards a project that will elevate space technology to a new level. The radio telescope project will bring large capital investments and create jobs," said Paul Baki, National SKA Technical Committee chairman.
Baki told reporters that this project will help answer fundamental questions like the origin of universe.
"The Square Kilometer Array project will have multiple benefits in the fields of aviation, biomedical research, land surveying and telecommunications," Baki said, adding that African countries bid as a team to host the project.
Baki said 60 percent of the project will be located in Africa while the remaining 40 percent will be in Australia.
Funded to the tune of 2.5 U.S. billion dollars by the European Union Air Max 90 Sale , China, Australia, South Africa, India and Canada, the radio telescope will position Africa as a hub for space technology.
