The Ottawa Senators hope to continue their strong start to the season when they shoot for a fourth straight victory in tonights home test against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Clint Frazier Jersey . You can listen to the game live on TSN 1200 at 7pm et, with pregame coverage beginning at 5pm et. The Senators made the playoffs in 2012 and 2013 under head coach Paul MacLean before missing the postseason tournament last spring. The disappointing 2013-14 campaign put MacLean on the hot seat heading into the new season, but his troops are off to a much better start this time around. Ottawa needed nine games to reach four wins last season, but could reach that mark in the fifth tilt of 2014-15 with a victory tonight. The Sens began this season with a loss in Nashville before picking up three straight wins against Tampa Bay, Florida and Colorado. The Senators used a third-period offensive outburst to down the Avalanche, 5-3, on Thursday. It was Ottawas first home game of the season and the Sens kicked off a four-game homestand at Canadian Tire Centre with a thrilling comeback win. Ottawa trailed the Avs 2-0 and 3-1 in the first period before climbing back into the game. David Legwand scored the lone goal of the second period to cut the deficit to 3-2 before the Sens notched three more markers in the final stanza. Bobby Ryan tied the contest at 8:39 of the third and Clark MacArthur supplied the game-winner just over three minutes later. Chris Neil sealed the comeback win with an empty-netter in the closing minutes. Craig Anderson made 28 saves as Ottawa snapped a seven-game losing streak against Colorado. It was a good character win by us, said MacArthur. We stuck with it. It was ugly in the first (period) and we were able to hang in there and find a way to get a win. Ryan, who inked a lucrative seven-year contract extension with Ottawa earlier this month, recorded his first goal of the season on Thursday. The American winger has fared well against Columbus in his career, recording nine goals and 10 assists over 23 games. Ottawa has won three of its last four games against the Blue Jackets and the Sens are 4-1-1 with a tie in seven all-time meetings in Canadas capital city. Robin Lehner will get the start in net for the Sens. He has a win in his only career outing against the Blue Jackets, stopping 32-of-33 shots in a 4-1 road victory on Nov. 5 of last season. Columbus also enters Saturdays tilt with a 3-1-0 record after holding on to beat a visiting Calgary club on Friday. The Blue Jackets led 3-0 before allowing the Flames to rally in the third period. A second-period goal by Matt Calvert wound up being the difference. Calvert gave the Blue Jackets a 3-0 lead at 7:55 of the second period, but Mason Raymond and Josh Jooris, making his NHL debut, scored in the third period for the Flames. Ryan Johansen and Jack Skille had first-period goals for Columbus, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves in his 100th game with the Blue Jackets. Columbus head coach Todd Richards felt the team got away from its game once it built a 3-0 lead. What we have to learn is just continue to do the same things that allowed us to have some success, he said. Curtis McElhinney expects to get his first start of the season for Columbus, as Richards is looking to give Bobrovsky a rest. McElhinney has never faced the Senators. The Blue Jackets open a four-game road trip tonight in Ottawa before heading west to visit San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles. Columbus won its only road tilt of the season, opening 2014-15 with a 3-1 victory at Buffalo. Columbus forward Marko Dano missed Fridays game with an undisclosed injury and the winger is questionable for tonights contest. Colorado came up big against Chicago last spring, and repeated that performance Tuesday night. Varlamov stopped 36 shots and Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche in a 5-1 victory over the Blackhawks. TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors shocked many on the draft floor by going off the board and selecting Brazilian forward Bruno Caboclo with their 20th selection on Thursday night. But Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri said the pick didnt come out of nowhere. Ujiri said he had been tracking Caboclo since the 2013 Basketball Without Borders tournament, where he was named tournament MVP. "Bruno was one of our next guys and we decided we lost one (Tyler Ennis), were not going to lose the second one. We jumped on it," said Ujiri. "We felt like hes second on our board so lets get aggressive. "Hes a few years away, but hes a talent that I think, at the end of the day, we will be happy that we picked. Well develop him and were excited that we got a talent like that." Head coach Dwane Casey said that budding talent was something the team simply could not pass up. "There were some other guys on the board, but still with this young mans potential, I dont think the other guys on the board have the potential as high as Bruno and that was the deciding factor for us," Casey said. The Raptors, who had been linked to Ennis -- a point guard from Brampton, Ont. -- had to quickly shift their focus once the Syracuse product was selected 18th overall by the Phoenix Suns. With Ennis no longer available, Casey says Caboclo became Torontos clear choice. "(Caboclo) is one of those guys that we had to move and get him at 20 once we didnt have a chance to get Tyler Ennis," said Casey. "We had a program in place where we were going to try and get Tyler and Bruno. Once we couldnt move up and get Tyler, Bruno was the guy." Casey said Toronto was one of just three or four teams who knew of Caboclo, a native of Sao Paolo, but Phoenix was also in the mix. With the Suns holding the No. 27 pick, the Raptorss didnt feel Caboclo would drop to the 37th pick, where Toronto selected second. Lou Gehrig Jersey. "When you start to hear that the guy could be gone at certain places, we started to hear in the late first round," Ujiri said. "Sometimes it gets frustrating where you dont get the picks that you want and you lose a guy and that happened to us earlier." Toronto also picked DeAndre Daniels, a six-foot-nine forward out of UConn, with the 37th overall selection. The Raptors ended their draft by taking 6-4 guard Xavier Thames with the 59th pick, but quickly dealt him to the Brooklyn Nets for cash considerations. Caboclo, who will turn 19 in September, is a 6-8 swingman with a 7-7 wingspan. He spent the 2013-14 season with Pinheiros of the Brazilian league and played 16 games last year, scoring 4.9 points and grabbing 3.1 rebounds per game. "Hes one of those players with a tremendous amount of potential: athletic, wingspan, same wingspan as JaVale McGee," said Casey. "Hes raw, but again hes going to be a guy that develops in our program and grow and do a lot of things for us." The plan for Caboclo, who was en route to New York from Houston at the time of the Raptors pick, is to have him go to Los Angeles and work out with Raptors veterans DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson and Terrence Ross before heading to Las Vegas to participate in summer league action. "I think this development is important for him where hes getting used to the facilities, used to the training," Ujiri said. Caboclo is expected to fly to Toronto Friday. This isnt the first time Toronto has selected a Brazilian in the first round. In 2004, the Raptors used the eighth overall selection on Rafael Araujo, who spent two seasons with the Raptors from 2004-2006, averaging 2.9 points per game. ' ' '
