Speed is the name of the game for Johnson, a late-round prospect who became just the fourth Maryland Terpin of all time to surpass 4,000 all-purpose yards in four years. Johnson actually considered entering the draft last year Levine Toilolo Jersey , but eventually had second thoughts and returned for a senior season. Though it wasn’t his most productive year, Johnson left his college career with a degree and an impressive 7.6 yards per carry in his four seasons. As you’d expect with that speed, he was also a standout kick returner at Maryland. Michigan fans may remember this: It’s unclear if Johnson will threaten to take up a roster spot in Detroit’s crowded backfield, but the Lions don’t have a clear kick returner on their roster right now, and that may be Johnson’s path to Detroit’s final 53-man roster come September. EDTShareTweetShareShareFriday open thread: What was the Detroit Lions’ best offseason move?Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY SportsOn Thursday, the Detroit Lions added defensive tackle Darius Kilgo. While it’s a sign the Lions are far from done adding to their roster before the beginning of the 2019 regular season, it’s also a good indicator of the kind of moves you can expect them to make. In other words, don’t expect the Lions to make any blockbuster moves between now and training camp. So now is a good time to look back at the Lions’ entire offseason and evaluate the good and bad things Detroit did. To enter the weekend Isaac Nauta Detroit Lions Jersey , let’s start with the good. Today’s Question of the Day is:What was the Lions’ best offseason move in 2019?My answer: It’s the simple answer, but Detroit’s aggressive play to get defensive end Trey Flowers in free agency is easily their best offseason move. They may have overpaid. They may have trouble managing their salary cap when his cap hits reaches $20 million annually. But Flowers is just about the perfect player the Lions could have ever hoped for. Not only did he fill the Lions’ biggest offseason need, but he’s obviously a perfect scheme fit, too. And perhaps most of all, Flowers is going to be the lead-by-example locker room presence that Matt Patricia wants and needs to complete the culture change in Detroit. It’s honestly hard to imagine the Lions adding a more key piece to their team than Flowers, and the move to add him could pay dividends for years to come.Your turn.Tweets from https://twitter.com/PrideOfDetroit/lists/lions-coverage
