(AP) — Falcons cornerback Robert Alford and kicker Matt Bryant have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins after both missed practice for the third straight day.Coach Dan Quinn said Friday that rookie Isaiah Oliver will take Alford’s spot. Oliver, a second-round draft pick from Colorado, makes his second career start.Alford, a starter in 67 of 79 career games, is out with an ankle injury and will miss his first game since 2015. He was hurt in a win over the New York Giants 11 days ago.Giorgio Tavecchio will replace Bryant for the second straight game. With Bryant hobbled by a sore hamstring since kicking a 57-yard field goal against Tampa Bay, Tavecchio kicked three field goals against New York. He sealed the outcome with a 56-yarder in the closing minutes.The Falcons (3-4) hope that receiver Mohammed Sanu will be active against the Redskins (5-2). He has been limited in practice two days this week and did not participate Thursday because of a hip injury.The Falcons Chris Thompson Jersey , who rank third-worst in scoring defense and yards allowed per game, will be without their best linebacker, Deion Jones, for at least another two more weeks. Jones has been sidelined with a foot injury since the season-opening loss at Philadelphia. The team will go up against two division rivals including the reigning Super Bowl winners and two tough matchups outside of the division. The Redskins kick things off against the Buccaneers in Tampa where they’ll take on Winston and his weapons which include rookie Ronald Jones, Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson Chris Thompson Jersey , O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. The Bucs defense will look to stop the Redskins in every area on offense with their new look DL which features Vita Vea, Jason Pierre-Paul, Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry. The Bucs also have an exciting young LB core when healthy that features Kendall Beckwith, Kwon Alexander, and Lavonte David. The Redskins offensive line will have to keep Alex Smith clean this game and give Derrius Guice as much room as they can to wear these guys down. I don’t think it would be a bad idea if Smith wanted to showcase his arm in this matchup either. The Bucs have a mix of young players and veterans in their secondary but if the relationship develops between Smith and Crowder/Doctson/Richardson I think this is an area the Redskins offense can exploit in their way to a possible win. The Redskins will face a top 10 defense when healthy the week after as they host the Texans. The Texans have beat the Redskins the last two times the teams have met and if the Texans are healthy their defense should be stacked at every level. It all starts with containing the best defensive player in the league. Roullier, Scherff Morgan Moses Jersey , and Moses will have their hands full trying to stop J.J. Watt from the get go. Not to mention the threat of Jadeveon Clowney on the other side coming the the OLB position. The Texans did add Tyrann Matheiu in the offseason so their safety situation is improved as well. The team should look to attack the opposite side of Watt and really challenge the Texans linebackers hopefully with Guice, Thompson, and Reed. DeShaun Watson is healthy and will look to test the Redskins defense with his arm and his legs the Redskins will have to exercise discipline but be decisive when they defend against him. The secondary will have to contain Will Fuller from going over the top and they will have to contain Nuk Hopkins from doing damage at every lever Bruce Ellington can do damage from the slot but the Texans also drafted KeKe Coutee who can play and cause damage from that position as well. On paper their isn’t much going on with the Texans TE position but the linebackers and safeties will have to be sharp as to not give up a lot of cheap gains to that position. I think the Redskins defensive line can contain Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman the key will be if they can contain Watson and prevent him from gassing guys early. At this point during the season the Texans will likely be neck and neck with the Jaguars in a divisional title race it would be huge if the Redskins got a win here. The Redskins will visit Dallas for the last divisional matchup between the two. On the last article of this series you guys overwhelmingly said that Dallas at home was the most critical game in the second quarter of the season do you feel the same about this one? The Redskins will close out the third quarter of the season with a trip to Philly. If things in Philadelphia stay the same as they were last year this ought to be the toughest opponent the Redskins will face this season. Washington will of course have the tough task of getting hands on and containing Carson Wentz. The same goes for Zach Ertz and rookie Dallas Goedert along with their receiving core. I know some folks look at names on paper regarding that WR group and are unimpressed but from recent matchups telling the tale there is nothing unimpressive about the damage done to the secondary when Wentz connects with his target. I’m looking for Monte Nicholson and D.J. Swearinger to be healthy and tight with their coverage to avoid giving up big plays. The Philly front seven is stacked and the Redskins OL and running game will have to grind and be committed to balance to have any shot in this one IMO. I think the Redskins can test Nate Gerry who looks to be atop their depth chart at weak side LB Gerry came out of Nebraska as a safety/lb hybrid but his coverage skills needed work I think the Redskins can take advantage of him out of the backfield or by matching him up with Reed. Doctson will need to have a good game here as well for the team to have a shot at the upset I think. I have no doubts Doctson can body and out jump Mills and Darby and the Redskins offense will need some big plays out of him and everyone else to compete here. This is the most critical game of the third quarter of the season.
