It’s starting to look inevitable that the Detroit Lions will have an extremely high draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In fact Will Harris Jersey Womens , the Lions are guaranteed to be picking in the top 10, regardless of what happens in Week 17. Detroit can, at best, finish 6-10 on the season, and while there are plenty of other teams that can finish with a record the same or worse than that, the Lions’ fairly easy strength of schedule guarantees they’ll finish no lower than 10th in the draft order. So that means it’s time to start seriously thinking about the draft Matthew Stafford Jersey , and none of the top targets or off limits at this point. Theoretically the Lions could still land the No. 2 pick, but somewhere in the 4-8 range seems most likely. Still, that means the Lions could have their choice of one of the best prospects college football has to offer. So today’s Question of the Day is:This early in draft season, who is your favorite draft prospect? My answer: I’m still extremely early in my draft research, but the name that I keep coming back to is Kentucky’s Josh Allen. Our own Alex Reno did a profile on him this week, and as I read through every paragraph Darius Slay Jersey , the more I wanted to see him in Honolulu Blue. A premier pass rushing edge talent that can also drop back in coverage and has the versatility to play on the line and off the ball? Yes, please.I honestly believe the Lions’ defense isn’t all that far away from being among the best in the league, and a top-tier pass rusher can do a lot to single-handedly improve a defensive unit. I wouldn’t quite put him into “Draft Crush” status yet, but he’s already getting close.Your turn.Tweets from https://twitter.com/PrideOfDetroit/lists/lions-coverage It appears the fears of a long-term injury to Detroit Lions punt returner Jamal Agnew were not hasty. On Tuesday, special teams coordinator Joe Marciano told reporters that the team was in the beginning stages of preparing a long-term replacement for Agnew as the team’s punt returner: Agnew was injured in the final quarter of Sunday’s game against the Packers when his knee bent awkwardly while tumbling towards the end zone. He was carted off after getting some help off the field. Former NFL doctor David J. Chao believes the video of the injury suggests he may have suffered a torn ACL, but the video Marvin Jones Jersey , he admits, is inconclusive. It’s interesting that Marciano suggests Agnew’s replacement will be an internal choice. The Lions could turn to Golden Tate on punt returns, as the veteran receiver has averaged 10.7 yards per return on 90 career punt returns. The Lions could also use Brandon Powell or Ameer Abdullah on returns. Abdullah was active for the first time this past Sunday and quickly assumed kick returning duties from Agnew. He has yet to log a punt return in his NFL career, however. You’d have to go back to his sophomore year at Nebraska to find his last punt return—way back in 2012. But the Lions won’t need to just replace Agnew on special teams. The All Pro punt returner was just starting to emerge as an option for the Lions’ nickel cornerback spot. Agnew played in at least 10 defensive snaps in all five games this year, including 44 against the Patriots. With injuries mounting up in the secondary—Teez Tabor left Sunday’s game, while Quandre Diggs played with a cast Kerryon Johnson Jersey , and Tavon Wilson missed the game entirely—don’t be surprised to see the Lions make an addition to the back end of the roster.
