He leads the Flyers with 10 goals and his 21 penalty minutes in 25 games this season is a career-low pace. ZEROES Justin Schultz – Edmonton’s troubled blueliner was buried in his own end (7 shot attempts for, 25 against, 21.9%) against Winnipeg. Schultz is down to 49.0% Corsi for the season, but it’s trending the wrong way, down to 44.7% over the past two weeks. Jaden Schwartz – One of the Blues’ better players this season, Schwartz didn’t manage a shot attempt in 16:49 during a 4-1 loss at Chicago and was a team-worst 34.8% (8 shot attempts for, 15 against) in terms of even-strength shot attempts. Alex Galchenyuk, Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher – The Canadiens line was stuck in the defensive zone – all three at 28% or fewer shot attempts – in a 2-1 loss at Minnesota, despite starting more than half of their shifts in the offensive zone. LINEUP NEED TO KNOW Jordan Eberle – Played 15:35 at Winnipeg, his second-lowest ice time of the season, while Tyler Pitlick played 18:07, skating with Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Corey Crawford – Chicago’s goaltender will be out at least a couple of weeks with an ankle injury, suffered at a concert. Antti Raanta gets first crack at starting in Crawfords absence, with Scott Darling recalled from the AHL to fill the backup role. SHORT SHIFTS Jets RW Dustin Byfuglien tallied a goal and an assist in the Jets’ 3-2 win over Edmonton. After a slow start to the season, Byfuglien is picking up the pace, with five points (3 G, 2 A) in the past six games. Ducks C Ryan Getzlaf (one goal and one assist) and RW Corey Perry (two assists) each had a couple points in a 5-4 shootout win against Philadelphia…Blackhawks RW Patrick Kane scored a pair of goals in Chicago’s 4-1 win over St. Louis, giving him 15 points (8 G, 7 A) in the past nine games. Blackhawks G Antti Raanta had 40 saves on 41 shots in a 4-1 win over St. Louis…Canadiens G Carey Price stopped 33 of 35 shots in a 2-1 loss at Minnesota…Wild G Darcy Kuemper turned back 18 of 19 shots faced for the win. The Wild fourth line of Erik Haula, Ryan Carter and Justin Fontaine controlled possession against Montreal, with Haula and Fontaine driving 80% of shot attempts (12 for, 3 against) despite starting only one-third of shifts in the offensive zone. FANTASY FOCUS It’s a busy night, with 11 games on the schedule, here are a handful of players to consider for your lineup: Nick Spaling – With Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis out, Spaling is skating with Sidney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist, and played a season-high 20:13 last game. Michael Ryder – With barely enough healthy bodies, look for Ryder to get back into the lineup after a healthy scratch last game. Only three Devils forwards have more points than Ryder’s 12 and one of them, Jaromir Jagr, is not expected to play due to illness. Stephen Weiss – Six points in six games this season and the Red Wings are hosting the defensively-questionable Stars, with Jussi Rynnas making his first NHL start since March, 2012. Vincent Trocheck – Forcing his way into a bigger role by actually scoring, Trocheck has 11 points (2 G, 9 A) in 14 games this season and played a season-high 15:33 last game. Daniel Briere – Not a long-term solution, but he does have three goals in the past four games and has averaged more than 17 minutes per game in the past five. It was Ottawas first game without starter Anderson, who is out indefinitely after cutting his hand Wednesday night, and it was evident the team wasnt sure how to deal with the change in goal.MILWAUKEE -- Kyle Lohse had the Chicago Cubs hitting harmless groundballs early in counts. He threw in the occasional fastball to keep batters off balance. The Cubs struggled at the plate with the Milwaukee Brewers veteran locked in with his slider and sinker. Lohse allowed just three hits in a complete game shutout, and Ryan Braun had a two-run homer in the first inning of a 9-0 rout against the Cubs on Sunday. Milwaukee pounded Cubs ace Jeff Samardzija (1-5) for eight earned runs in three innings, raising his ERA from 1.68 to 2.54. "I figured it would be low-scoring on both ends. I knew Kyle had a good chance of keeping them down and I didnt expect to get a lot of runs off Samardzija. Great offence," manager Ron Roenicke said. Braun homered to left on the first pitch he saw from Samardzija, and the Brewers rolled from there with Samardzija having trouble locating his fastball. Lyle Overbay broke the game open with a three-run double in the third. Even Lohse had success at the plate with an RBI single to drive in Overbay to make it 8-0 for the pitchers second run-scoring hit of the game. Lohse (7-1) needed just 93 pitches in tossing his eighth career shutout. "Its fun to go out there and help out, add on, but thats not my main job," Lohse said about his 2 for 3 day with the bat. "My main job was to go out there and get us deep in the game, and I take a little more pride in that." With Lohses pitch count at just 83 pitches after eight innings, Roenicke wasnt even thinking about pulling the veteran. "I didnt even go talk to him. When you see that kind of game and the pitch count that low, its impressive," the skipper said. One of the few highlights for Chicago was Brian Schlitters single to lead off the seventh for the relievers first major league hit. Otherwise it was a frustrating day for the last-place Cubs. They lost their 14th straight series on the road, a streak dating to last September. Samardzijas "command wasnt the bbest today, but it was just one of those days for him," manager Rick Renteria said. Nike Air Max 1 Clearance Canada. "I think very rare." The eight earned runs allowed were as many as Samardzija had given up in his previous six starts. Scooter Gennett had two doubles off Samardzija before hitting his third homer of the year in the fifth off reliever Justin Grimm. Gennetts first double exemplified the Cubs afternoon. A high fly to shallow left-centre in the second fell in between backpedaling shortstop Starlin Castro and charging outfielder Junior Lake, who looked away in frustration as Gennett hustled into second. "You have to take advantage of mistakes against a good pitcher like that. When a team makes mistakes like that, you have to jump on it," Braun said. Two innings later, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was ejected by home plate umpire Jerry Meals for arguing a called third strike and Chicago trailing by eight. The left-handed slugger turned to face Meals and pointed angrily with his left arm at the ground before being sent back to the dugout by Renteria. "I said my peace and I definitely understand why I got ejected," Rizzo said. "Im going to move on." Braun hit his ninth homer of the year and second in three days. The Brewers hope it might be a sign that hes over the right oblique injury that sidelined him for two weeks in May.
