When you have one of the NFL’s best players on your roster in Khalil Mack Youth Leonard Floyd Jersey , it can be difficult to talk about anyone else. When that player is on one of his best career stretches, the limelight feels like it won’t ever leave his presence. Everything Mack has accomplished in his short time of three games with the Bears has been nothing short of remarkable. He’s the primary reason Chicago sits in first place in the NFC North. He deserves all the attention he’s receiving for his dominance. In a breath of fresh air, we thought it would be pertinent to discuss some of the Bears’ supporting actors instead. It’s easy to discuss Mack and say what he does well every week, because he rarely makes mistakes and does something incredible almost every defensive possessions. Seattle had it’s Legion of Boom. Denver had/has their Orange Crush. Vic Fangio once coached the Dome Patrol of New Orleans. The Doomsday Defense of the Dallas Cowboys still lives on in the memories of fans across several generations.And, of course, there was the Steel Curtain in Pittsburgh. There will always be the Monsters of the Midway. Yet, one could suggest that as a nickname for the entire team, one that has stuck with the franchise since the 1940’s. Your’s truly: The Windy City Mafia - Khalil Mack mentioned in a recent interview that defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has an “Italian Mobster kind of swag.” I instantly pictured Fangio as the Godfather of this Bears defense. Patti Curl: Wall of Bear - As Andrew Link mentioned in our conversation, “Der like a wall, you can’t get true ‘em!” Andrew Link: The Scare near O’Hare - A crafty name that would also be a great title for a Halloween film starring this bunch of defenders. Sam Householder: The Lake Force - Much like an elite special teams unit in our armed services. Steven Schweickert: Return of the Sack - Because there has to be a play on “Return of the Mack”...Jeff Berkes: The Navy Pier Bombardiers - Almost a throwback style of name. Of course, such a potentially big decision was presented to the interwebs for suggestions. There was some amazing feedback on our Twitter and Facebook pages, and I’ll highlight a few of those ideas.
