The Green Bay Packers released seventh round draft pick OLB Kendall Donnerson as they continue to trim the roster from 90 players down to 53 by this afternoon www.packerscheapshoponline.com , according to Tom Silverstein.Donnerson was the 248th pick in April’s draft out of Southeast Missouri State. Clearly as a seventh rounder he was not expected to compete for a starting job but it was hoped he would provide some depth at position that is relatively thin in the Green Bay roster. He made a quick impression with a fumble recovery in the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans, but didn’t show much after that.Aside from the fumble recovery, he racked up seven tackles with three coming against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now Donnerson is the first member of the Packers’ rookie class to get released. It very much remains a possibility Green Bay will place him on their practice squad should the rookie clear waivers.Regardless of where Donnerson lands, the Packers remain thin at edge rusher even with the emergence of Reggie Gilbert. Don’t be surprised if Green Bay scours the waiver wire after today’s cuts to add a pass rusher.Click here to follow along with all of the team’s cuts this afternoon. Remember last January, when a backup quarterback led his team to a 38-7 victory over the vaunted Minnesota Vikings defense, preventing the purple team from making it to the Super Bowl?We do, and we’re fairly certain Vikings fans do as well. Today we will see a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game between the Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles, but both teams will have different quarterbacks under center than the ones who started in that contest. The Vikings let Case Keenum walk in the offseason, signing Kirk Cousins in free agency. For Philadelphia Green Bay Packers T-Shirt , Carson Wentz is back from injury, taking his job back from Nick Foles. That game takes place in the afternoon time slot, between the Green Bay Packers’ divisional game at the Detroit Lions and an all-Texas affair on Sunday Night Football between the Cowboys and Texans.
