It's been a very successful week for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. Working with Zhang was not Voeten's first experience filming in China. In 2008 he worked as the first assistant director on The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. However, he noted a very significant shift in China's cinematic confidence since that outing.

This fashion feast also picked up supporting acting gongs for veteran Australian actors Judy Davies as Winslet's mother and Hugo Weaving as a cross-dressing policeman.
